    The Good:
-Check out my new Leer shell!

    The Bad:
-I ordered the cargo net and Leer sent the wrong size. Not a big deal since they said they were already sending the correct replacement.
-The driver's side window screen has a puncture and scratch in it.

    The Ugly:
-The rear passenger side corner has scratches all in the paint. Looks like someone or something scraped completely across it.
-The Thule racks look used right off the bat. The metal rails are scratched to hell and there are markings that look like a rack was already used. That or someone seriously fucked up during install.
-While taking pictures of the Thule racks, I noticed a dent on top of the fiberglass roof.

Ok seriously, this thing looks absolutely sexy. And I really do love it. But what in the actual fuck is up with the quality of this shell? Except for the dent, which I discovered the next day, all of these issues I found as soon as I got it home and could look at it in the sunlight. Even my neighbor pointed a couple out when he stopped by to see it. In all honesty, I think I was sent a used shell packed as new. I've already contact the retailer and sent them pics. And I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt that Leer sent the shell in this condition, so hopefully I'll hear some good news on how this will be corrected soon. But for $3500, I am not happy and I expected better quality. Tell me i'm not being unreasonable, right?

Yeah that sucks man, could be some shipping/handling damage. Also maybe it's just the camera or lighting but that paint match looks off to me... Hopefully it's better in person

Yeah I think the paint scratches and possibly the dent on top are due to poor shipping, but who knows. The paint matching does look a lot better in person at least. I think it was just the angle of the top with the sunlight that makes it look off in those pics. But it's hard to overlook all of the other issues. The dent especially. With this being fiberglass, I don't see that being repairable.

I'd be more concerned of the paint match being that off ? But ya, it does like like a used unit. Give em hell!

Oh yeah definitely. I've been in contact with the retailer and they are pushing for Leer to send a new shell. They are also trying to get the history of the serial # if Leer will cooperate since they also believe it's a used unit.

Yeah, I would be pissed. I feel like as long as your dealer is worth their salt, you will get a replacement or redo at the very least. I bought a 100XR in 2014 directly from the Leer factory in PA. In addition to the gas struts on my windoors & year hatch starting to go, I had also started to get paint bubbling/peeling around the Thule tracks and around the windoors. Basically, it looked they didn't let the paint cure correctly and it was starting to fail over time. So, last winter, I went to a local dealer here in CO where I live now. They took pics & filed a claim for me & within a week they took off my cap and shipped it back to one of their factories for a complete repaint of the cap and replaced all the struts under warranty. The only thing they wouldn't do anything about was the powder coated latch on the rear hatch which had also lost most of its paint as they said the warranty on it wasn't as long as the rest. Good Luck! They seem to stand behind their stuff, but your forced to go through a dealer for any warranty stuff even if you buy directly so hopefully they support you.

I made them replace my whole cap, they put the tracks on crooked among other things, maybe they re used on yours ..... as i used my cap for about six months before it went back. My replacement was 100% better than the first one.

Welp...Good news. My retailer contacted me and Leer is building/shipping a new shell. Good thing too since today was the first day I had my truck parked in heavy rain and I noticed there is water all in my bed. No idea where it's leaking from and honestly don't care at this point. I still have to wait for the 4 week turn around but I can use this beater one until it gets in. Hopefully I have better luck with the new one.

Maybe my eyes are deceiving me, the color looks off. Am I wrong? Maybe its just fresh brand new paint.

You're not wrong. I can't explain it, but it doesn't look that off when you are looking at it in person. Those pics though tell a different story. A new one should be coming in within a few weeks so hopefully it will be better all around.

Oh man....this story has become the never ending disaster. The new one finally came in, but it took almost 10 weeks. Several phone calls went on within this time and neither the dealer nor Leer could give me a straight answer on when the replacement was coming in. A few complaints to management and owners later I found out the order for the replacement was never put in until 5 weeks after I was told it was. So already not a happy customer, but it doesn't end there. The new one finally came in and I got a call later that day stating they dropped the shell from the prep table completely destroying it. I was pretty livid at this point. After some negotiations they are going to order a new replacement which they will end up eating out of pocket (not my problem) and they are giving me a good chunk of money back for wasting so much of my time. I honestly would have rather taken my business elsewhere but this shop is the only one around my area that sells Leer which I was set on getting.

Anyway, the replacement to the replacement is supposed to get in either end of May or beginning of June. I'm not holding my breathe at this point with either the dealer or Leer though. Can't say i'm too happy with either party at this point and quite frankly regret this whole ordeal.

Oh man, sorry to hear it!

I've got a Century Ultra Sport on order, which is the same as your Leer. I can only hope I have better luck with mine coming from the Woodland CA factory

Post some pics when you get it
