@4xdog I have a seatbelt rig for him. Mine straps to the seat and has like a foot long lead to it so he can hang out the window. Good thing ive had that since he was a pup too cause one day on some particularly curvy roads he went out the window getting a little too into it and was hanging by his harness. Scared the crap out of me, but hes always strapped in too.

Excellent, @DecepTaco -- the way I read your earlier post it wasn't clear that your pup was secured. Perhaps your experience (and mine) will give people a chance to think about something that might not have occurred to them.

This only works on the drivers side. It just opens the circuit - aka it mimics the clasp being in the buckle thing 24/7.

Unfortunately, it does NOT work on the passenger side. Which is the side I really want to disable..

I solved this problem by cutting a seatbelt buckle thing out of a wrecked 2nd Gen in a salvage yard, and I keep it buckled whenever nobody's riding in my truck!

I do not really have a need to disable the seatbelt chime, but I have enjoyed this thread immensely.

I do this when my lab rides shotgun. Although I am now going to try what was shared by the OP.

I find it funny that people think that because someone doesn't have their driver seatbelt on that this will some how tell the car to not launch the airbag. The drivers side air bag will always deploy , the SRS system assumes that someone is always in the drivers seat, I mean if the truck is traveling down the road, its pretty fn obvious that there is someone in the drivers seat. Seatbelts and airbags are NOT interconnected systems. FYI. I wear my seatbelt, but when I'm offroad or on the beach some times I do not.

"Both the air bag and seatbelt are interconnected and work together " -Direct quote from the link you provided.

Also, it's equally, if not more important to wear your seatbelt when driving off-road.
