Finally joined the gang! Kings with headstrong aal (overload removed). Also installed ecgs, weld on spindle gussets, and superbumps

 

I assume you bought from the same group buy I did. Looks good. What size tires?

 

Thanks, 265/75/16. Will probably try to go up to 285/75 when I need new tires

 

For everyone running these shocks. Is it really beneficial going the accutune route or are the standard Kings just fine?

 

Just an FYI, we tune the shocks for free with purchase. On our kits thats a $360 value.

@AccuTune Offroad whats the downtime on rebuild service? I’m around 40k miles on mine and now have to start planning ahead since it’s my daily driver.

 

Once we get the shocks in our possession, it's about 1-1.5 week rebuild time. We will need to get an estimate sent to you, so you can include that in the box with the shocks so our techs know where to route your shocks.

 

Thanks for the quick response! I haven’t really felt the shocks deteriorating or anything in performance but when do you recommend getting it serviced? I keep hearing 50k mark or when it leaks which mine are fine.

 

50k is an average range with normal street use. If the shocks are leaking, then they should be rebuilt right away. If they loose enough oil that could cause lots of issues. You may want to have the nitrogen pressure checked in the meantime, Kings should be at 150psi.

 

Any good recommendations on where I can get this checked out? I’m in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

 

It's definitely something we could take a look at, but we are down in Carson, CA. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with any shops in that area.

I have tried to go through and read the majority of the posts but wanted some feedback from those specifically running #700 springs with a slimline type bumper up front + winch. Truck also has a prinsu and side steps, total maybe ~200 lbs. Wanted to future prep for skids and dual battery so i went #700. What type of lift did you get up front with that type of weight on factory preload? I’m asking because i don’t know whether to go stage 1 or 2 on my rxt leaf pack. I know I may just have to do the front first, measure, and then figure out the rears. I appreciate anyone’s feedback or opinion.

 

Hey guys, just had some Kings 2.5 ext travel with comp adjusters installed few weeks back and had a question... For pavement/daily driving, should the adjuster be dialed all the way to the softest setting?


And as for off roading (Oahu, Hawaii), how many clicks (on average) should I dial it towards the firmer setting where I’d notice a difference? I know this answer will vary as it depends on the terrain, but generally speaking.

 

Wide open, or all the way to the left will be the softest setting. This is only a mid speed adjuster, so you may not feel a major difference in between settings. Take a look at this article that helps explain how they function:

does King offer a single shock with independent slow & high speed adjusters, or is that achievable with a dual shock setup only?
