Temps here have been in the 60's, and everyone is bitching that it's freezing .

I have found that I can't handle the cold as I could when I was younger, but 60's is great sleeping weather .

13 more working days to retirement !!!

Thank you all. No issues today, a rare event, took Repo pup for a walk today instead of just around the yard.
I've also noticed the last few years that the cold is harder to take, still go snow camping for some reason. Not much snow yet this year.

That is good, relatively speaking. We usually have a cold snap this time of year and get down to about -10 to -20 for a few days, but that has not happened this year. :fingerscrossed:

Thanks, Mike...but no thanks. The Tacoma is big enough for me. I may be getting older but I'm not into the land-yacht phase of aging.

Welcome! Grab a cold one from the cooler and join us on the porch!!

Good morning, everyone! Put in the high-lift struts last evening...managed to only lose one trim clip. I guess I'll be heading to the local dealership today.

Thanks for the 'Welcome' - Just a bit about myself....3 years before retirement I bought a brand new 2014 Tacoma base access cab 4x4....4 cyl A/T...in anticipation for x country road trip....In 2017, I retired & bought a Kubota BX 23 as a retirement gift to myself...Well in the same year I noticed my wife changing...now she's in mid stage Alzheimer...So.... The Tacoma sits in the garage with about 3600 miles on it. When I bought it I put it on a lift, took apart as much as I could to spray a waxie military grade 'RP 342 Cosmoline' plugged up all the holes in the frame. Don't want to deal with a rusted frame despite I don't drive it in the salt. I also covered the space in the engine compartment and the frame with rubber...Just couldn't believe how the engineers at Toyota could leave the A/C compressor on one side & the alternator on the other side exposed to water splash while driving...but then again why would they care, as by the time those 2 units fail, the truck is out of warranty & its the owners problem...I will continue my build with a ARE or Leer commercial cap with barn doors, full aluminum skid plates, with the hopes of travel in the future....Glad to chat with guys that are mature in age but young in mind & ambition.... Thanks again for the welcome.....

    +1.
Has not been below zero where I live in California for at least five years, just to the point where my nose hairs freeze was all. Been 10 years maybe since I snowmobiled in to a area where it got below zero north of Lake Tahoe, real rush the next morning after snow camping on my ride out, hunkered down behind my low windshield and ride like hell.
Spent 19 nights last July on the road, backpacking and camping every night, no motels. Think I was able to use a real shower three times, solar shower once, quick dip in a back country lake at least once and lots of time away from people. :)

Grabbed a couple trim clips at the dealership today - popped them back in and the high hood struts are in. I installed them to have the hood open 5.5" higher than with the standard support. Did I tell you I love this truck?

Is that the same truck in earlier pictures Mark, it's clean:thumbsup:. How do you like the tonneau cover? Mine is 13 years old and starting to show it's age. Need to replace it. Truck does look good Mark.
