    going to be installing the ARB air locker with diff gears 4.11's if thats possible.... i dont know too much about rear ends so id appreciate the help. also if anyone knows the best gears and how much they will cost as well. THANKS

    Figure about $500 to $650 per axel for parts and labor. Price of the locker will add to the total cost.

    its a prerunner so thats not too bad and thanks. are 4.11's possible to run with our trucks? im running 33's so what kind of mpg and power increase should i be looking at?

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    Power should be very close to that of a stock truck with 31" tires. MPG should be the same as stock, maybe just a little less depending on how you drive.

    Instead of posting a new topic, I suppose I'll just Hijack ;)

    What about re-gearing a 09+ TRD OR? Does the locking rear differential, Auto-LSD, or A-TRAC have any impact on the change over? If so, what else needs to be done? New locker? Additional parts? Additional labor?

    You should be able to get the right size gears for the differential.

    well i do a good bit of highway driving and id rather keep stock rpms instead of running 3200 at 70 mph.

    Iv said it a hundred times ill say it once more, its NOT the rpm that will kills you its ENGINE LOAD! So you might be at 3.2k rpms on the freeway with 4.56 and 2.6k with 4.11 at 70, you might actually be making your engine work a lot less increasing fuel.

    Right now im 33.1" and 4:11 gears on a 4 banger. 8 get better mileage driving 70 with 33.1 then i did at 60 with 265 75 16

    which is why im going with 4.11's and i have 33's. i didnt ask for info on 4.56's bc ive already made up my mind about that.

    Labor is about 4 to 6 hours anyplace i called. So labor is about 450 to 550 for install of just the rear locker and gear.

    IIRC, I paid $1150 for the front and rear of my Dodge, including gears.

    400 per diff labor
    200 for parts



    the issue i see with 4.56s in a 4 banger is getting the front carrier out of a 3.73...

    My gears were 300 for the rear, and about 280 for the front....but yeah......close enough. :eek:

    HEY chris 450 was from sierra expeditions for gear install, arb install and the wiring and whatnot that might be involved with it. First i called desert rat and they said 550. So if 450 is too high where do you suggest i go ask?
