You have to paint it yourself, but I imagine you can get it powdercoated for like $200

Maybe it’s just the tone I’m reading those all-caps bits in? Reads a little angsty to me.

Are you my wife? "It's not what you said...or how you said it...it's the way you leaned to the right and farted when you said it."

One of our rental Crew cars is a TRD Tacoma and I’ve had people engage 4wd several times when they wanted to turn the heat down. If I didn’t know cars it would’ve been bad. It’s simply a bad design. At least we don’t have a Dodge Shifter with a dial that has killed people who thought they were in Park.

Alright, whatevs. Didn’t mean to get y’alls’ Panties in a twist. I just thought it was funny for him to get so pissed about something that’s common on 4x4 trucks. I’m trying to think of something I’ve driven that didn’t have the switch or button in about the same place. Now since Toyota has yet to respond, I recommend you boys pay more attention as I mentioned earlier!

Once again, you're being too sensitive. Lighten up brah. We're just joking around. Look at my user name sub-title. Do you think I'm wearing panties?

If this is really a problem, a good solution might be to wire a toggle switch in series with the dash switch and locate it some somewhere more acceptable-- then use that relocated switch for switching into 4WD. Then two switches would need to be activated to avoid 'accidental' 4WD'ing. Or the dash switch could be wired completely out of the control circuit. As a bonus, this approach probably does not require any lube nor desensitization procedures.

So the other day the wife was driving, stopped at a store to get a drink and I was going to take over the wheel. Slid across the console rather than getting out and accidentally brushed my new TacomaKnobShop spiked rubber 4WD knob ring with my...uhh...swimsuit area.

Embarrassed to say it but I was a bit...hmm..shall we say it, turdGen turgid?

Sooo, has anyone else accidentally been turned on by the 4WD knob?
