Regear labor costs/time

From various cars I’ve owned over the years it seems like gear swaps shouldn’t be attempted unless you are a good and experienced wrench. I’ll admit, I’m not good or experienced on this sort of thing.

 

I belief you can pull fully assembled 3rd members directly from ecgs. I'm thinking about going this route.

 

I am, but probably not from these guys. Just getting quotes from shops around me right now

 

How hard is it to pull the rear axles? What holds em into the diff?

 

Interesting. I was wondering if there were c-clips in the diff, I guess not since it's a 3rd. Sounds easy asf, especially w a swap from ecgs.

 

don’t forget us here in the northeast. I paid exactly the same $1080 per axle. Total cost was about $4500 for rebuild/regear of both axles and an ARB locker in the rear, not including the price of the compressor + mount. The shop I used is Mainline Overland in West Chester, PA. Took them 2 weeks to do the job after a hiccup with installing the locker.

 

Quoted 2k just in labor and 2 days to install from a local Denver shop to regear to 4.88.
