    Morning all!

Probably would depend on where you were. I mean, I can definitely see the appeal of pulling into your campsite, setting your jacks, and being set up. But I definitely don't see the appeal of doing it in a big field with 100 other RV's.

:cookiemonster: Morning all. Haven't been on much. Work getting in the way of all non-work activities.

Took a 1600 Mike road trip in the Landcruiser this past weekend for a funeral down south just north of Myrtle Beach. I really love my FJ still, it God damn the Landcruiser rides so much nicer. Left last Thursday at 3pm and drove through rain pretty much the entire way. Then crazy windstorms early Friday morning. Even with a cargo box on the roof of the LC it's so much more stable in crosswinds. I am officially a convert.

Also, being short ftw. With no car seats in the second row I can lay across the back seat comfortably. Took a at the last rest area in VA before hitting NC for a few hours.

Finally got my BenCC sunglass holder scangauge mount and scangauge installed too. Much nicer than the UG I just had clanging around. 20200213_094657.jpg

Bruh, an RTT will change your life. Camp is set up in under 20 minutes And it’s off to slay fish.

The diff is out, but I’m going to have the local shop do it as well as the seals, ecgs bushing, etc.

Yeah, unless you're camping someplace that you A)can't drive to, like an island, or B) need to launch and recover the boat each day. Then, an RTT is a pain in the neck.

Camper shell would be my go to. Takes up the bed sure but doesn’t need to be exactly level, is cheaper, no ladders to deal with with dogs, clean out is a breeze especially if you’re on the river all day and reek of fish all weekend, throw some simple green and a power wash in the bed and hose her down!

I get the rooftop tent but honestly for one person I’d just sleep in the cab, 2 and a dog can do a camper shell on a long bed easily, short bed slightly cramped but doable.

Eh, it’s not one boot for every adventure. You’re allowed to have multiple setups between tents hammocks bed setups roof setups etc. if you’re out there enough to use both, just get both

But think of the interwebz points you can get. Not to mention social media cred.

I'm on a Tacoma forum and I own a Ram 2500 with a cap that doesn't match. My interwebz points counter needle is absolutely buried in the red

Yeah, a roof top tent is not really my cup of tea. I'm too old and fat to get into a bunk bed, let alone a tent on the roof! I have a nice ground tent but even that I don't really deal with much anymore.

don’t forget the 2am piss. Tumbling down the ladder like a stooge character because it’s late and you just have to pee.

or you could always just piss out the side.

I never understood when people complain about that aspect of a rtt. Having never used one, I don't understand why you can't just piss out the door? It's going to absorb into the ground/ evaporate by the time you get up.

personally I’d prefer to not piss all over the ladder and potentially miss and get it in the tent, etc.

I mean to be fair it’s the same issue in a camper shell too but just closer to the ground and easier to walk off a bit and piss in a bush.
