Any reasons not to go with 265/75/16?

No I understand what you're saying. I'm just still trying to understand the tire sizing. I had a jeep where it was 31x12.50 or 33x12.50 or 35x12.50 etc etc. that felt simple, but i understand this is a different system.

looks are def not everything but I'd be lying if i said they meant nothing. The fact is I need new tires, and from everything I've read it sounds like i can size up to the 265/75/16 without much performance sacrifice...but after getting into it tonight it sounds like maybe it's not that simple all things considered.

I had a 4 cyl gen 2 and went to 265 75r16 Michelin MS2 tires. I lost about 1 mpg (after adjusting for odo) and I would say it was about 10% slower. I would do it again though, looked way better, even with highway tires.

I have never run the duratracs but my buddy has had them for the last few years and likes them.
@friendlywithbears runs them, he could probably give you a good honest review.
In that size I would pick them over the Falkens.

I have 265/75r16 Falken wildpeak. Absolutely love them. Stock tires do not compare. Took a gas mileage hit 1-2mpg. If you do any offroading, yes get some.

Truck is flexing to one side in that pic.

okay so 2.5 inch lift on a 6 cylinder...doesn't really apply to my situation, but man it looks dope!

I see you have the 2.7L . You can feel decrease in performance and worsening gas mileage .

So that is my truck, and last spring I got some 265/75/16 C load Cooper AT3s

    Before: 245/75/16 falken at3w

The slightly bigger tires definitely look better, and difference in power is barely noticeable. My gas mileage actually went up with the bigger tires compared to the wildpeaks, but slightly down from what I was getting with the stock tires.

Why not check out 265/70/16. It’ll help keep stock gear ratio over the 265/75. They are usually offered in all the same tires but cheaper and lighter weigh.

FYI. I sold my Duratracs after a year. Idaho roads are shit and it exaggerated the road noise. They also like to grab any imperfections in the road and wander more.

Big fan of 265/75/16 Duratracs. I'm on my 3rd set, each have lasted about 40-50k miles. Never any sidewall issues. Now running Load Range E for my weight needs, but thinner sidewalls on my first set were great too.

ah man this is a great reference thank you. they look great. interesting your gas mileage went up with the larger tires. Looks like you and I have the same truck just different colors...I've only had it since October but am in love with it. Can't wait to get some new tires on it.

Are those E rated or SL? Thinking about these but worried the SLs won't be as bombproof.

Non E rated. I offroad in very rocky terrain. Have hit the sidewall right on sharp rocks and never a puncture.
