Can anyone here advise on a good parking lot near newark penn station? Im looking to park and take the train to nyc for a day. Is it out of the relm of possibility to find a non-valet lot?

 

Not my area of expertise but perhaps someone else may chime in.

 

Have you looked at spot hero? Seems the cheapest parking for 24h is valet, when do you plan on going?

 

Spring, havnt heard of spot hero ill check it out. Ive just been googling what lots are near the train station and see they have horrible reviews, damage to vehicles etc

 

Where abouts do you live? Parking will be safer, more convenient and less expensive near a train station other than Newark Penn. I’ve used Union, Metuchen and Metro Park to get into the city and I don’t even go into the city often.

 

Im coming from pa, we just want to take the path train straight to the world trade center stop

 

Do yourself a favor and stay in PA it’s much nicer there. If you insist on going to New York Shitty and wanna take the path to WTC your best bet is park in a parking garage in Hoboken and take the path from there. Easy to get to, easy to park, your car will still have its wheels when you get back and the path ride is only 5 minutes

 

Park in PA and take the bus in.

 

I work downtown Newark. Agreed, not the best place. Depends if you mind walking to to the train or if you need to park right next to it?
I personally don’t mind walking to it, but everyone is different when it comes to comfort in the ghetto.
As mentioned, parking in a nearby station might be better. Like summit or Millburn. They’re on your way from PA and depending On the day you’re visiting, might even be free parking. So the cost of NJ transit may offset the parking fee in Newark.

 

I would park in Hamilton if I were you take the train from there. Safer place to park

 

Thanks for all the suggestions, someone else recommended i use amtrak from pa into nyc, then use the subway to get to wtc
Not rushing to get there so i have time to weigh the options
Also considering a tour bus day trip

 

Why not take the waterway from Hoboken or Weehawken? It should take you right there and you get a boat ride.

 

can chop the cab mount and bash your pinch weld and can burn plates in Monroe. take your pick.

 

anytime I go to the city we end up taking the ferry across. usually pretty cheap parking and ticket
