:typing:So my husbnad is trying to lift his jeep and wants me to wait on getting the full 9in lift on my truck.:goingcrazy: His friend suggested just getting a 3in body for now so I can fit some tires/rims under it. My only thing is if I'm going 9in in the future, I don't want no weenie 33's under that bitch. Does anyone know if I can fit 35's around an 18inch rim under a 3in body lift? :confused:The shop that will most likely be doing the lift says I'd HAVE to go 9in to fit 35's; 6in won't do it. I just wanted to know if anyone knew any differently. (I don't want to have to buy 33's now and 35's later.)

I have seen 35's under an 05-09 with only 3 inches of suspension and cutting the body mount plus some massaging of the inner wells. I know it can be done with the suspension but not sure of that with a body lift. Whatever shop told you that you could not fit 35's without a 9 inch lift has no idea of the 05+ tacomas at all I have seen it done first hand as I said with only 3 inches of suspension.

u can fit 35's under a 6" lift all day....i'd steer clear of body lifts period. 35's on a 3" lift takes a LOT of cutting and dicking around

Take a look at GotLift37. He has a 9" lift with 37" tires. That shop had no idea what they are talking about... You can do a 35" with a 3" lift. It will just be a tight squeeze and you might have to trim up some stuff to make it not rub...

Body lifts are crap (sorry) But if you want a lift get some blocks and spacers for the front. Body lift will gain you nothing except to fit bigger tires. Wont help your clearance at all. and will make your truck have a terrible gap

Holy hell! How much body did you have to cut away to clear 20in rims and 37in tires!? I'm soooooo afraid to cut anything. And I hate to say it boys, but my trucks gonna be a pavement princess. (Sorry, sorry, don't hit me) He's only 2wheel drive. What's a coil who-ja-ma-whats-it?. A friend of ours had a SWB Taco with 9in (6 and 3) and 35's. Basically, I'm a copy cat, but I want different rims and tires.

didnt have to cut much at all. I could turn all the way and the tires not hit the frame at all. I did have 1.25" wheel spacers. Just had to cut a little bit of the plastic fender liner towards the bottom front behind the fog light area.
You can kind of see in this picture. Its a little difficult, but its all I got showing anything near where we had to cut.

A quick question. I'm looking at buying an 05 SR5 2wd with a 9" lift and 37" tires. What kinda gas milage should I expect (city/hwy)? I live in Florida so it's flat.

    Thanks
