I called Team Toyota for the part number and a price quote. ( I have an 05' ) Dealer cost is $201.00. So I took that part number and did an Amazon search, no dice. So, having good success with Rock Auto, I ordered from them. The part was plug & play. I am gambling that this part is not rocket science to duplicate and it will last a decent amount of time. Cost from RA was $77.00-sold!
It rained all day today, used the new switch with great satisfaction!!!

 

Yes, it was quite simple to install (If I can do it anyone can) the one I purchased was the same as factory, been working flawless since I installed it in 2010. Good Luck

 

Hoping for a fast outcome. I mean, i dunno how they screwed it up. You're right about the sorry service. They were unapologetic and asked me three times, "you sure its not in the warehouse or in front of the loading dock?" Very positive because I'm standing right here and my warehouse guys would of seen it. "We'll investigate and get back to you in a few hours or a few days depending on the the driver" WTF is that suppose to even mean. Why can't you call the driver right now?!

Luckily i won't be installing the new suspension/wheel/tire setup for a few more weeks.

 

I just got around to it since buying the truck about 2 months ago. Did other things that were a bit more important.

 

This product sounds like the way to go. I'll be picking some up tomorrow along with some Fluid Film for the new hitch.

 

Ok. Discuss it with Rockford Fosgate, Sony, and Kenwood that trained me. As for me, my opinion won't change on this one.

Why would you remove the front tweeters and put all of the frequencies that have to do with imaging and staging at your ankles? That makes no sense. With the rear speakers up high like that now driver's stage is at the driver's left ear, like standing sideways at a concert. That makes no sense either. But I'm glad you're happy with it because that's all the matters and I apologize my trained opinion offended you sir.

I would throw a couple up there if they would work for like a voice coil/guitar solo fill and could handle volume...just for novelty/imaging...

Even with modern head unit imaging/staging/distance etc options my best setting is a compromise between front/back, left right.

Thats why the old alpine ere eq...nice to have everything at my fingertips instead of scrolling thru a menu while driving, constantly hitting the fader slider and frequency(s)
Tons of different genres of music on shuffle.

Always having to move my left leg to get imaging from the drivers door speaker...add a passenger or gear on the pass floor and balance right to make up for that mounting location.

Im still trying to figure out why they reversed the speaker locations????
In my world 6s go up front and 6x9s go in back but watever it is what it is.
At least I have back speakers I couldnt imagine only having the 6x9s front, low...if its not coming from all around me at a height I enjoy, its not coming.

Because I can and because it sounds much better without the door panel tiny, worthless "sound holes" blocking the quality of the speakers.

Listen to yours with the door panels off sometime compared to with them on.

 

Just replaced the pads and rotors tonight.

was surprised my brakes were still working after seeing them.

 

Changed the oil, rotated the tires, and replaced the cabin filter tonight. I'm pretty sure the cabin filter was original from 2008, covered in leaves and other crap like it was.

Trying a new oil and filter combination on the truck. Went with Schaeffers 9000 synthetic in 5w-20, and gonna try using the larger Toyota filter for my truck(2.7) which is the YZZD3. Hopefully this turns out to be a good combo.

New rotors make a huge difference.

I put off doing mine for the longest time thinking old school 4x4 have to remove the whole hub & bearings thing until we did my sons rav4 and I finally researched it.

Love toyota for making front rotors that knock right off with a rubber hammer!
