That’s impressive that it has a nicer ride then a new Silverado. Mine quite a bit stiffer than before but I’m thinking Once it’s loaded up it will settle out if not I can always adjust the BP 51 rebound and compression settings

I looked up your job posting purely out of curiosity. Looks like you are leaving some pretty big shoes to fill at your place of employment! I wish you the best in finding a qualified replacement.

Thanks Bryan. I think they’ll find someone good. I’m hoping it’s an internal candidate within the company as we have several very well qualified people.

Continuing to work on the truck. Here’s the water purification system in progress. Need to have the Scheel Mann seats installed first before finalizing the plywood shelf/box.

you’ll also notice that I’ve removed the jump seat and its floor mount behind the driver.

Kind of going backwards but prior to installing the water system I put Noico 80 mil on the back of the rear wall behind both seats to attempt to reduce some noise. I was impressed at how much noise comes from the back wall without the rear seats and the pitifully thin OEM sound deadner.

Then I put 1” of plastic insulation and reinstalled the passenger rear seat. One of our kids might want to ride with us for a bit on our trip. I’m hoping that after adding the plywood box surrounding the water system things will quiet down

Even after this there’s quite a bit of noise coming from the vents in the rear wall. That’s the rectangular black area in the white insulated area. This vent is so you can easily close your door without slamming or popping your ear drums.

With a full tank of 33 gallons and with complete recovery gear, otherwise empty it’s 6,800 lbs

I also decided to add Noico 80 ml to both front door panels while I was putting on some wider mirrors.

I also added it the floor as well. Taking out the seats and center console wasn’t too hard as there’s great posts here on TW on how to do it.

The very unscientific results by my ear are that the truck is now super quiet. Well worth tihe time and weight.

Just got a quote for $1,500 for a roll on/roll off shipping, not including port fees, import tax, etc from Baltimore to Liverpool, England on June 1st. Our house is going on the market March 9th, the day my wife announces her retirement.

I didn't see anything, and not sure if you have something better, but maybe an external jump pack like a NORCO just in case of an issue to get you back to civilization...or just in case

A couple of nights ago @Stopmithering stopped by. It was pretty cool checking out someone else’s Taco/flatbed/fleet package. It was dark when came and dark when I went to work otherwise I would have posted a pic of the two trucks.

It's a battery jump pack. Pretty small and cheap.

Think he meant Noco. A portable battery pack that can be used to jump start the Taco. I've got the Noco40 but have not had the pleasure (or displeasure depending on how you look at it) or having to use it.
