I like how your truck sits. Looks good. I’m thinking of running 37s next. Not sure what I need to do.

been reading about cranking up my 5100s and adding a lift coil.
What set up do you have?

Ya know.. I would really hope somebody with one of the 6" kits would go full out and put 40" tires with baja fenders.. no reason not to.. 35's fit find with a little trimming on a 3". I went overboard since I really 4wheel mine.

 

@ToyotaRoamer86 yeah I here yah. I’m not doing that. Mines 2wd. Wife bought it new in 2006, and after a baby I got rid of my truck and bought her the new 4Runner and then I got the “hand me down” and put a bunch of crap on it. And now it is hole I throw money into. Got more money into it than what it’s worth lol. It’s just a problem I have. Can’t drive anything stock.

To clear the tires had a shop relocate the body mounts and tub the wheel well. Fenders cut around 2.25" also

In the rear All Pro Expo springs (4" lift) and BDS 4" kit rear shocks instead of the supplied ones with the 6" kit

 

I want to go with 35s, but this is my daily drive and I live in a busy city, So, I still have some doubts about it! Re-gear is not an option at the moment.

 

What size are you on right now? Looks sharp!

Nice. I like the 16s on the 6" truck looks great. I am running 295 70 r17 on my truck. Some days I wish I just bit the bullet and went 35s... I am sure I will do it sooner than later. Although I do enjoy the functional setup.

 

It's a big step, literally! Even more if you use your truck as your daily drive! In my case, I am more worried in the lack of power than the impact of the big tires over the already bad mpgs. By the way, your truck looks awesome!

 

Thanks man! Yea the power loss is a big deterrent but we will see. I have some big ideas coming up here

 

@sblspawn Honestly the lack of power isn’t bad. I have a full borla exhaust and it’s always had more pep than my 2006 access cab. It does just fine. It’s my daily driver as well. No problem getting onto the highway. Speedo is off by about 4-5 mph. That’s bout my only complaint. But I’ve owned other lifted trucks. Nothing out of the ordinary.

 

Thanks for let me know, man! Any idea how hot the transmission gets moving those beasts? How much trimming you did?

 

@sblspawn I don’t have a gauge on my trans, but I have the tow package and a trans cooler if that helps lol. And I honestly trimmed only before I lifted it 6 inches just the plastic of the fender flare that wrapped up into the wheel well itself. I do not rub whatsoever. But I also have bilstein 5100s up front for about another 1.5 inches of lift.

 

@Blacktacoma23 i love the set up man. Looks good. I just know I wouldn’t ever modify the frame in anyway. Nothing against doing so, I just don’t have a desire to do that to fit larger tires. If I can’t fit the 37s without cutting metal I will gladly stick to the 35s. But I must say...those lower control arms are beefy. Did those allow the extra lift with the coil overs get in alignment better? Or was it a must to achieve the added lift?

I agree ....I went from 35" to 33" and back to 35's....pretty much no change in power to me.

 

Strength! Replace the lower ball joints with uniballs. Slightly more ground clearance. Delrin bushings too. (Back in 2015 they were 1,500 and I dont see the same version on their website anymore they went to ball joints)

Upper control arms (especially heim joint versions) allow for the most adjustment correcting alignment.

 

I know this is probably on here somewhere but I don't want to look through 700 pages to find it. I have a 6 inch pro comp lift and want to get rid of the blocks in the rear. If I go deaver or alcan to make some leafs for it, would I only have to go with a 4 inch lift to keep the front and back level? What have you guys done to get rid of your blocks and what would you recommend? I should be getting 5100s with a 620 eibach to get rid of the spacer up front soon and would like to do the rear at the same time. Thank you guys I love all the setups I have seen!
