i did a doodoo electrical Question.

2000 tacoma 2rz, w59 my truck had an viper after market alarm and power door lock actuators ( oem wasn't powered, or windows ) so i disconnected the viper unit under dash, reconnected all oem wiring and NOW, the doodoo..... dash lights up all hvac controls light up BUT the needels on the cluster n arent moving except gas guage, and the blower for hvac isnt coming on, AND the wipers are out too, its almost ZERO in chicago n this isnt fun....HELP

 

Hurt my head to read that. Hopefully you figure it out!

 

As a fast fix you could just wire 12V directly to the blower and wipers with speaker wire until you get a chance to figure it out. This turned into the default way to start my old Westfalia

 

Have you checked for Open fuses that might have been caused by your electrical work??

You have something wired wrong only you have any idea what you did.

As the blower motor and wipers would not have been tied into the Alarm in most cases who knows

Did you have the schematic of the alarm and door locks as you attempted to return things to factory ??

 

Sounds like you blew a fuse to one of the 2 power wires running to the cylinder. Check the fuses is all is well you can test for power at the ignition switch. Red/white (30 amp) and and solid white (40amp) are your 2 feeds.
If that checks out maybe they used a relay to interrupt the accessory or an ignition wire to stop a back feed. Check those wires to see if any were cut.

 

Back in the day I had a Viper on my 86 4Runner. The alarm started going haywire so I ended up removing it. I took it to a shop, to have them take it out though. I didn't want to try and mess with that nest of wires. Best $50 I spent on it, lol.

 

I've heard so many nightmare stories about removing alarms.

 

yes those have been cut and ran through the viper module, but i reconected them soldering them together and then shring foil over it, maybe they go else where or splice into something underneath the steering, the wires that where cut are the wires going to the ignition switch plug behing the key cylinder it self.

 

today drove the truck and it went into like a limp mode, as if my afm or tps was off point and wouldnt idle past 1300ish ( guessing since needles dont work )

but iv noticed when i turn the KEY to ON position my temp gauge raises to temp for that split second i hold it in the on position.

 

Someone else mentioned it aswell but when I bought my truck I noticed it had a stupid Viper thing and the doors would lock when I turned on the truck and unlock when i turned it off, paid some stereo guy to take it off

 

iam pretty sure i removed a ground from the fuse box drivers side kick panel, i will go by the truck now and see if i can ground it, i will keep you guys updated.

SOLVED, i didn't just want to cut the viper out and leave the pig tails there, so i removed each damaged wire from its plug replaced it and solder/heat shrink repaired it so it looks good and i know i wouldn't have a shity connection.

as i was removing the wires from the plug, and i also had a few wires connected behind the fuse box by the kick panel, when i removed the fuse box to do the same repairs behind there, i must have not plugged in 1 of the connectors there fore i lost power to a few items as described above, made sure all wires where repaired and in good and snug position, and BAM found my lose plug. reconnected the plug went over all the damaged wires repaired all of them and my problem has been solved, few of you mentioned you took your truck to a sound shop and payd 50bux, wise choise.

regardless, when removing alarms guys pay attention, know whats going where, and know how electricity works, it can be done reason i wanted 2 attack this my self is i didn't see it as a big issue, iam in the HVAC trade and figured whats a few low voltage wires.

il post some pix once i figure out how.
