Shoulders and traps are my best growing areas right now. Wife said my quads are growing as well. Started at 185. My weight class goes up to 220 so I have a ton of wiggle room lol

Be careful with bands, a guy a few pages back lost an eye with the ones that hook behind the door. I'll use some to warm up especially shoulders. Body weight exercise like push-ups and Pull-Ups and even no weight squats are excellent to do if you don't have a gym membership better than nothing.

Edit. Just weighed myself. was 185-183 3 months ago. Have been literally stuffing my face and eating as much as I can. Including peanut butter by the spoonful and casein every night and scale says 196 right now. Fuck lol. Thought I would’ve gained more than 10lbs.

I'll talk to the trainer and start learning how to use free weights.

Good to know, No pain but I just thought it was odd that it was popping.

    Also good to know.

    Ouch, sounds painful.
No pain, just clicking thankfully. I'll make sure to warmup, I need to research warmups.
I do the "proud chest" and tight core when I press (and I tighten my core for almost all of my workouts) and it really does help.

Good to know, yeah, PF is budget friendly, 3 minutes from the house (I don't know of any other local gyms closer than 10 minutes), 24/7, can take a free guest, and other perks made it the easy choice, on the plus side the times I go typically the weight area seems fairly empty.

Technically the weight would be halved as the machine utilizes both arms, but I'll drop it and see how it feels. The curl machine is great at targeting the biceps, upper body is tight against the pad and triceps are kept squarely on the pad.

Thanks! I'm really happy with the improvement in how I feel.

Thanks, once I set a routine it was easy to go after work and it was difficult to take a day off, once I passed that hurdle the next one was going back after taking the day off, (Still kind of fighting that) and now the hurdle is not getting into a lax workout routine.

Thanks for the input, I'll research them and talk to the trainer about them tomorrow, I still have much to learn.
I did do a standing bicep curl with a bar and cable last week, proud chest and pinned elbows, core tight, and it felt much better than the machine.

That's awesome!! Chinups are a 2021 goal for me.

Gaining weight in the right places is good but if you notice those love handles becoming more of a grab handle instead of a pinch then cut back. Congrats on your new strongman endeavors which reminds me of this strong man stuff it's like the 1920s or something I've read about people like Eugen Sandow which the mr. Olympia trophy is modeled after.

Love handles and gut have grown. But I can shed it easily. I was decently thin around 180-185 So it wouldn’t be much to cut it off again

Trainer made these lists for a 3 day strength (plus 30 minutes of cardio), 2 day cardio, 2 day rest schedule. He didn't prescribe any weight, he wants me to tell him what I can do to set a baseline and go from there.

He also recommended I start researching and using free weights for various exercises, and he said he wants me to use cables for the lat pulldown and not the lat machine.
