You're right as far as the US market is concerned, but here in the EU (Germany) we've got the Grabber AT3 recently as a replacement for the AT2... the ATX is unfortunately not available here, possibly due to european noise emitting restrictions but I'm not sure. Would make sense since the new AT3 is somewhat less aggressive than the older AT2, let alone the ATX.

However, my old truck (the 2016 Ford Ranger) was totalled in a crash on the German autobahn in April 2019, luckily my son and I came away unharmed. Since June I now own a Toyota Hilux Revo. Great truck! Maybe I'll go with the Cooper AT3 4s this time, in 265/70R17, but for now the stock tires (Bridgestone Duelers) are doing just fine, especially on wet tarmac.

I'm at 34k on these and the wear is pretty bad. I was beginning to think it was just me being picky, but my girlfriend's dad was standing near my truck and commented out of the blue that I'd need tires soon. They're also a little noisy now and snow performance isn't nearly as good as it was last winter. My state inspection is in April and if I let them go that long I know they won't pass.

It seems I'm the outlier as far as wear goes. They did wear evenly, just quickly--maybe because an F-150 is a little heavier than a Tacoma that contributes to the difference I'm seeing?

I ordered a set of Grabber AT2s. They're discontinued in favor of the ATX, but I wanted the AT2s since I can get them in a standard load so I ordered while I can still get them. I also have a few trips planned and will feel better with new tires if I hit bad conditions.

I don't think I'll have this truck beyond another 15 months or so, so assuming I don't end up with a flat I can't repair they'll be the last set it gets under my ownership.

Perhaps it could be a weight thing.. Mine are well over 40k and holding at 9-10/32nd with barely any wear measured for several months. They initially wore as many tires do but then the wear just kind of, stopped or slowed dramatically. I'm on track to keep these on the truck for at least a full 2 years which is very uncommon. I'm hard on tires and normally end up replacing every 12-18 months.

I’ve had these tires 3 months now and I absolutely hate them. They have a shudder between 50-65mph consistently. I have taken them back to the tire shop 3 times for balance issues. Took to a dedicated off-road shop and they told me to stay away from these because they have been known to cup and develop a shimmy. I’ll deal with it until summer and probably go back to stock. Sucks big time because I like the look and grip but with as much highway driving as I do, I can’t stand the vibration.

echo what Markdobie said. the design of the tires are great. I've got over 40,000 miles on mine. no such thing as 100% pass manufacturing of anything. quality procedures are in place for anything being manufactured. bad product can/does get out of the factory. there is a quality engineer at a tire manufacturing plant would like to inspect those tires.

Yeah, this doesn't sound right. I have about 45k on my set right now... they do need to run with more PSI than the stock Wranglers that were on my truck (I'm running them 34 up front, 33 rear cold). Mine are holding up spectacularly with all the miles I have on them, still pretty quiet, and I've never had shudder / vibration and I do tons of highway driving.

I've literally never had a tire that would still hug corners on mountain roads this well with that many miles and I'm continually impressed with their grip wet, dry, snow, mud, rock

Hate you're having these issues, but this is the polar opposite of my experience and many others.

There is a huge thread that’s a sticky up top. You will find a lot of posts with the LT.

Looking good! You'll love them if they're anything like mine. Rocking over 45k I think right now and no signs I'll need to think about replacing them anytime soon. Once these do finally wear out, will probably be the only tire I run on this truck for it's life

Thanks bshammer0 for the detailed review! You helped my decision process when buying tires this past August. I had been leaning towards the LT for a beefier look, but rationalized my decision with the amount of driving I do on state routes. I've got ~10k on my AT3 4S and couldn't be happier. They ride beautifully and are nice and quiet. Grip is excellent in cornering and wet weather, and they're certainly nothing to scoff at on dirt roads. I was pumped when they arrived and saw there's a decently aggressive look to them; that was a factor I thought I was compromising on when choosing not to go with the LT's.

I live on the side of a mountain in Vermont and commute over a mtn gap daily. I've been very impressed with their winter performance, particularly with two bags of 60# sand in the back. They may not be premium winters and this isn't my old subaru, but the grip is wildly better than the Firestone Destinations that were on the truck previously. With good attention, reading of the road and planning for the steeps, these tires get me over the mountain twice daily without much hassle. It's not going to take it like a rally stage, but it's a truck and those urges don't hit me as much these days anyhow. That being said, you can still get aggressive on the snowy roads and hold it down remarkably well for all-season all-terrains.

Here's a recent shot of the wheels—a little muddy as the warmth has been hitting us and the roads have rutted up pretty deep this past week!

I just got a second set of wheels and had these installed in stock 245/75R-16. I've got no problems with mine other than the weight (about 8 pounds heaver per wheel overall, partly due to the rims). They will be winter/early/late season wheels. They have slightly more noise compared to my Cooper G056 wheels, not objectionable at all.
Just curious what rims and tire size you are having the issues with?

Had same tires on my Jeep before I bought my Tacoma. 20,000 miles on them and they we excellent in all conditions I put them through. I will be getting the Cooper at3 4s on the Tacoma when my stocks wear down.

Finally got mine installed. Ordered some 2020 Pro wheels and 1 came damaged. A little over a week later finally got the replacement with 265/75r16 wrapped on them. I’m very pleased with how this combo turned out. Snapped a couple quick pictures of the setup. They do look beefier in person.
