If Im not mistaken Piercedtiger was experiencing this but it was due to a mod you might want to Pm him he is great.

To answer your question, there is aparently some items on our trucks that need power every couple of hours. They turn on and off on their own. I can't recall what or why, but I remember someone talking about it, something like 4 hours after you turn your vehicle off a component gets power for a few minutes. Wish I could be more specific but it was a long time ago.

My above post was partially pertaining to you.
There is an ignition or emission circuit that turns on every 4hrs after the truck is turned off. But the only mod that would maybe lead to this would be the fog light anytime mod but Piercedtiger has it posted in the cheap free mods thread here Fog Lights on anytime to avoid that. His lights or someones fog lights would come on every 4 hrs.
Did you purchase your truck new?

The same thing happenes with my truck. Park lights come on for no apparent reason, then go out. It hasn't done it in a week or so, I've only had the truck for about a month, I just figured it was my truck getting used to its new home! I noticed once that the fuel pump or something in the tank was making a noise. It stopped shortly after and the lights shut off again. My truck was imported from the US, and had an aftermarket alarm installed to work with the factory alarm or something? I dunno it was poorly installed so I removed it. I don't know if that was that caused it or not tho.

So it turns out that wasn't it. I was out having a puff and almost if my truck heard me talking about it, the lights come on. I didn't have a watch or anything but they were only on for like 20 seconds? I'll unhook the day time running lights and see if that does it.

did you ever find out what caused this to happen. my 2008 tacoma has the same problem, and nobody i spoke to has an answer as to why. it doesn't cause any issues, just annoys me that even the guys at the dealership don't know the fix.
