Did it myself. Everyone else I know has also done their own or gotten help at one of our MOD days. All you need is a grinder with a cutoff wheel. Welding in Fill plates is an option, but not required.

Are there any planned mod days in the future?

I would not leave it open if I were you. That part of the frame is designed to keep the wheel and tire from coming into the passenger compartment in an accident. I cut mine myself with an angle grinder and tested for rubbing, then took my plates to a welder I know and had him weld them in. It's worth the little extra $$ to be safe in case of an accident. I am a firefighter and have seen people's legs snapped underneath their seats, femurs broken, and heard a lot of screaming. Not fun, not worth the $100 savings. Plus it just looks better than having a hole there.

Not sure when, but I'm sure there will be.

If you don't mind driving your welcome to come out to my place. I live about an hour from DT Nashville.

You can also hookup with @Kerleyfries. He's much closer to the city. Not sure what he charges for his welding, but he has the equipment to put the fill plates in if you want them.
