Any issues with these in the car wash?

 

Installing my flush mount as we speak, I plan on washing it on Tue/Wed so I will let you know how it withstands it

 

There are lots of variables to consider but probably the biggest unknown is how each car wash actually works. Some are more prone to be “rougher” than others. The only true way to make sure there is no damage is to remove the plate. If you stick the appropriate screw driver in your glove box it really does only take 30 seconds for removal or installation.

 

Install complete. Very small improvising was needed (smaller washers, slightly longer plate bolts) but I used a clear protector that made some of those small improv's require modifications

Thanks for the purchase and feedback Eric! Big improvement! Most have not had a problem with the larger sized washer but every now and again it doesn’t seem to fit some trucks. I will look into stocking some smaller ones. Do you know the size you used?

 

Definitely a cleaner look, that is for sure

I ended up using 1/4" SAE washers I think.. the ones provided were too large and could never make flush it always got stuck at an angle..

damnit i had a design to do just this the day after i got my tacoma. i used an old license plate delete plate from Nameless that i had leftover from my subaru. drilled new holes. i used the original holes that were already in the bumper for mounting as well. looks great.

 

Oh thank god I live in a state that doesnt require front plates.

 

Some people have run a personalized plate on the front celebrating their favorite college or professional sports team.

 

Looks like a nice simple mod to replace the oem mount and the holes it makes in our bumpers. Sent you a message.

Easy install, took me 15 minutes and I was taking my time. Looks pretty flush, I bent my license plate along the bottom to follow the bumper curve. So much better looking and stronger than the plastic mount that Toyota supplies.
