Running it to BPF tomorrow for the clutch TOB Repair...

 

Much to my dismay, no.
I've been working for advancement since Sept of 2018 at HD and everything is coming to a head now.
If I get what I've been working towards I will not have the time due to extensive travel.
That said, I will be going out west in the Spring and will Definitely make it a point to stop in St. Louis on the trip to hang out with the crew.
I'll work with @G.T. to set that up once I nail down the timing.

 

Dang it but that's good to hear that you're moving up . Hopefully I can plan a trip out West in a couple of years. Hope to see you this spring, I've done a LOT to the Taco these past few months

BPF Clutch improvement appointment.

I got sucked into food shopping a soon as I got home. I managed an IG post Still haven't uploaded everything here.

 

So this weekend was obviously another BPF/TOYWERX endeavor.

started by pulling into Ant’s amazing shop and pulling apart the triple stick setup in the center console:




After all of that was removed we took the skids off and found this super leaky diff:


after further inspection this morning the leak was coming from the air line inlet on the diff. The plastic cap I’d put on when relocating the compressor had come off at some point.

Still have to reinstall the front driveshaft now.



We continued to remove parts i the way to drop the trans:


fortunately among all of Anthony’s wonderful tool is this transmission jack. We fastened the drivetrain to this with chains and a ratchet strap for safety.


Anthony stabilizes the whole setup:


and it’s out... so much more to do!


one of the issues we discovered was missing bolts from the crawlbox mount pictured below. There were two bolts missing on the passenger side and one of the drivers side bolts was seated in stretched threads and very difficult to turn.

I managed remove it without breaking and was able to clean it up and reuse it.

Gotta source two new bolts now.


clutch looks good


Had a leak on the t-case twin stick shifer assembly. Completely removed and resealed this.


We sprayed the whole crawlbox and t-case down with degreaser and got about 80% of the gunk off. Reinstalled and resealed the twin stick on the FJ case:

here’s the new clutchmasters setup that replaces the stock slave cylinder and accumulator:

that was pretty straightforward...

there’s two 17mm bolts on the top of this trans bellhousing that can only be accessed by feel.


New SS lines for the clutch

Dropped down back in all fours.


Time to fucking celebrate a 12 hour successful mod day!

So grateful for @6 gearT444E for his shop and expertise! Without Anthony I would not be where I am today.

 

Now that the clutch is good it’s time to start planning for the next phase.
I’ve had the Flippac for over a year and a half and really haven’t done anything to it except put it on and take it off. There are some essential mods I’d like to do to it and they can’t be done easily with it installed.



Sunday @loosnut @TOYTONKA and @TwistedTLM4 were kind enough to lend a hand with the removal.

Yes

 

Grrr. You may have to repair from the inside for structural stability. I'm sure you are aware that once you have cracks, you have to grind them away for a good repair.
