Hey, what does a first timer need to know before going to Tuttle Creek?

Such as - for anything that I or my truck can't handle, will there be a way to bypass it, or turn around, or the trail marked for difficulty when I turn onto it?

My son wants to go some time and I haven't found a GPS overlay map. So I think I'll be wandering around on trails I'm not familiar with. Just want to make sure don't get in over my head.

so tuttle creek is best to go with another person that knows the area some spots are marked and some spots have by passes but not all.


but stay away from the beach!! so many people are dumb and go out on it and sink and cant get out

 

also if you get into trouble give the guys at 4x4 land a call or go ask someone on the midwest krawlers they will help you out if you get stuck.


but loads of trails for easy exploring if i wasnt going to the expo tomorrow i would go out with you and show you around a bit.

 

they marked the hard shit now hahah but thats about it

also it closes at night once it gets dark they shut the gates

How are they marked? Is it a trail name, or an obvious indication of what's actually ahead?

 

some will have a little black plate on a tree now tuttle creek does have a trail map but its very dated and dosent show much of the trails very well

 

as you can see the trail map is pretty poor the park it self is a ton of fun but truly go with someone that knows the area at least a little bit
