    Check Build thread
If the square-ness if off a little you can adjust it by altering the holes that the leafs sit in on the spring perches so it won’t crab walk. But only can be corrected this way if it’s off a small amount

“I can’t afford to pay someone...”
is the reason I got into fabrication in the first place. You do you.

    :fistbump:

Same goes for mechanics, painting, construction, haircuts...

I might also just be a cheap guy though...

Lol same man. I learned to air brush rc car bodies for the same reason haha. I try to do as much as I can on my own. I'm just trying to not spend a ton of my own money on this build. I've been selling parts on the side to fund it and that money is all gone at the moment lol. So I gotta do some stuff myself.

I dont have many welder friends lol. My closest welder friend that I would trust with this i see twice a year, he's about to have a kid, and he lives in North Carolina lol.

I guess it is the people you are friends with very few of the ones I call friends don`t weld go figure.

The reason for my original comment.

That’s the truth. Some people call or come see me, my first thought is “what do they need?”

Lol I've only done 2 weld jobs for friends. And they were friends before I started welding so I think I'm safe haha.

My friend from NC is an amazing fabricator and has helped me a ton along the way and has welded things for me that I couldn't. But I always make sure I buy him dinner every time I see him.

I trade a lot of my side welding out for things. Mostly powdercoat on farm equipment and sometimes tools with the MAC tool man.

Got ahold of some 1/2" plate. Definitely a severance cut with lots of dross. It will get through it though.

So obviously, for straight cuts a metal saw would be the way to go, but for things like cutting perches off an axle or getting the rivets out of spring hangers it should be good.

Curious how straight it would cut a 1/4.

Are you using a drag tip? If yes, with practice you should get decent results.

If using a fence you can get pretty dang straight. A piece of angel iron clamped to the piece and slide the torch head along it

These circles were cut in 3/8" stainless using a quick template I made up. This is also when I got a little sick from the hex fumes from cutting stainless.
