I have an appointment next week to bring the truck in. I’ll report back with my findings.

Of course they can’t find anything and won’t move forward unless they see the codes active. I’m requesting my complaints in writing because I feel that it’s a safety concern and should an accident take place, Toyota will be at fault because they were aware of the issue. Maybe that will help escalate the situation, but I doubt it.

This was the exact party line they gave me when it happened the last time. Told me to drive it in to them, or any dealership the next time it happens if I was on a road trip.

I keep telling them that’s the problem. You can’t drive it when it’s in limp mode. On a road trip is the worse case scenario because they’d have to tow the truck while also providing me with transportation. But that’s when it happened last, I was two states away.

If you were running 1.5, get yourself over to the 2.0 beta.

What year truck and what ECU do you have?

I had this issue on 2.0 beta also. I’ve been running stock tune for the time being. If it happens in stock tune I’ll know it’s not the tune. I’d rather be tuned, but I have to conduct this test to know for certain.

I have been told it happens on stock 2019 trucks w/ ECU 04B31. It happened to me 3x times with the 1.5 / 1.5.1 tune. At which time I flashed to stock, until the 2.0 beta rolled out. Flashed to beta and never had an issue up until I traded the truck in for the 20. Post your stock test results when you feel comfortable

Mine is the 04B31 as well. I am running 1.5. Maybe I'll try running the 2.0beta and see how that does, though it looks like it might do the same thing based on post 68. The truck was throwing p2119. Is that consistent with your guys experience?

Well this isn't good! I've probably racked at least 6k miles on 19770 with no P2119/BOM fubars. Which 2.0 tune? 04B31?

How many times have you had the error occur? If you flash back to stock does the problem seem to go away?

Once at 1400 miles on 1.05 and once at 6000 miles on 2.0. When it happened on 2.0, I flashed to 1.05 and drove less then 5 miles and it happened again so I flashed to stock. That was less then 1000 miles ago.

In my experience, Unless the error code is active, the dealer cannot help you. They told me to have the truck towed the next time it happens. I miss the tune but kinda hope it doesn’t come back on stock. Mainly because that means my truck is broke and they have no clue how to fix it. I’ll run stock for awhile and see what happens.

Gotcha. That was my impression after reading through this thread. I probably have 3k with 1.5 and am bummed the error occured. Maybe I'll flash back to stock and roll that for a while. I'll post if anything related to this subject happens

If it were just a code that popped up, it would be a non issue for me and I’d run the tune. But since it kills power to the engine it can be a pretty scary situation. Only time will tell if it’s the tune or the truck. If there are future tunes that come out I may try them eventually, but it is what it is.

    In progress.... And getting better!
Just had the brake override issue come up. I was adding bed stiffeners and had the tail lights out. I’m running 2.0 right now. Any suggestions on how to reset the override? I should add that I did disconnect the battery.
