Steering loose after aftermarket wheels??

    3" lift, 33" wheels
    Maybe the wheels or rims are lighter and it just gives it a different feel. I have went from 17" e rated to 16" c rated tire and the steering just feels lighter. I'm no pro but just guessing.

    3" lift, 33" wheels
    The scs f5 16" weights 18pounds 13oz. I think the stock weights over 20pounds +. That might be why the steering feels lighter.

    This thread might win a most boring award, but in the event it helps anyone else...

    I definitely notice that as the days have gotten warmer I feel the issue more frequently on the highway. When my tires hit about 41 psi or higher after work and warmed up at highway speeds it gets bad. With the 35 degree temperature swings were having from morning to afternoon 36-37 psi cold in the morning turns to 40 later in the day. Thinking about going down to 35 psi cold or even lower then checking the chalk test. I know 37 is what the load rating says to run but the steering is kind of crap once it warms up.

    This probably had more to do with scrub radius than anything else but I'm just trying to make it more tolerable.

    And that just based off a recommend pressure. Experiment.

    10% heat rule...
    As long as you don't excede 4 psi when going from a cold to warmed up tire, you should be gtg.
    Say you start off in the morning at 35 psi. After about 10 minutes at highway speed, it shouldn't exceed 39 psi.

    Thanks for the tips. I'll keep the 4 psi in mind. Definitely experimenting.
