Oh that’s smart! Plus they’re easy to get off at the end of the lube job

The TSB replaces the MC and pedal cluster. Made my truck a completely different animal afterwards.

Shifting was much more consistent and smooth. I suspect my MC was bad.

Got OVTUNE, got the cable, ran P5flash and found out I was 04B10. I already had 87 in the tank so there was only one tune I could use. For whatever reason 87 FOB failed to install multiple times... so 87 base it was (this was Tuesday 2/11.
Thoughts on 1.05 87 Base: Big difference from stock, that lag between pushing the gas pedal down and actually seeing/feeling the engine push was practically eliminated. I really appreciate that as it has been a problem for me accelerating when passing people, making turns across traffic on arterial streets, etc. This was actually the problem I was willing to spend the dough to fix - although I heard the ECU updates alone through techstream may have remedied this. The power felt good throughout, and I had no issues (CEL's, limp mode, etc). Drive approximately 200 miles on this and ran my tank down, filled up with 91 on the hopes that today I would flash a 91 octane version.
Thoughts on 2.0 beta 91: I used techstream and tonered's linked files to update my ECU. 04B10 to 04B13, and perused the OVTune beta page for the appropriate tune. Once I downloaded it and flashed it I used pc5flash to 'reset lv'. Let it idle for a bit and took it out on the highway. Didn't notice any lag there but actually was surprised by the feeling, the throttle response felt less powerful than the 87 base, not quite boggy but just slower? I don't think I was imagining things as I drove 90 miles on the 87 base this morning. I got to thinking about the 1.05 91 FOB and wanted to try out the get up and go everyone has been posting about, so I drove home with only about 14 miles on this tune. Not sure it was enough to really give a ton of input.
Thoughts on 1.05 91 FOB: Pretty much what I'd hoped it would be, I am getting up to speed (and quickly at that) on the on ramps still in second gear. I'm able to pull pretty good in 5th at 70mph on a steep incline (Spokane downtown to Airway Heights). I think I'll keep this one on for a while and see how it develops, I'm sure my mpg's will be in the gutter

I think you will be surprised, most here claim better mileage with the 91 FOB tune.

Fresh brew of hand grinded French pressed coffee - check.

Ready to do some more DFCO testing and code today. Lets get this figured out.

    Question for you guys.
on the AT, if you hit the rev limiter and continue to hold the gas down, (in S mode) the truck will decel until 4000 RPM when fuel will be brought back.

Is this the case on the MT? or can you bounce off the limiter.

When you hit the limiter it's a soft cut and doesn't jerk you forward. I usually shift gears when I hit it and can get right back on the power with no delay. Not sure what would happen if I held it at limiter. Definitely doesn't feel like it cuts the engine for any amount of time.

    Mostly stuff I built.
When you hit the rev limiter it acts just like every other Toyota I have ever owned. Just “bounces” off the limit. Steep red clay hills with 3000lb trailer loaded with welding equipment and a good rain can get you in a bind.

Might be a dumb question but what is DFCO?
