Yes. No exam or callsign yet. Test is on April 14th. I want the license to be able to use radio on the trail. There are some overland groups that "require" ham.

If you have a Sportsman's Warehouse near by, they should have them. I have a few of those on my work truck.

Also bought me a battery jump starter. Don't want to have to use it either, but sure looks handy.

We actually just got an official Amazon account for work. They frowned on us using amazon before but I guess they realized it was another place we could get stuff without wasting a bunch of time.

The prime gets mostly free shipping. IMO, the video perk is useless old videos.

I like that plus my wife wants to axe DIRECT TV. My DIL has it for tv and it's not too bad. It has everything we watch and it's cheaper.

    Morning all

I paid $75 for a gmrs license, and we stay in the lower bands. I have all intentions of taking the ham test
I have told this story before. I got prime to ship my tires for free, saved a lot of money
You think we didn't believe you?

and money. stuff is so much cheaper there than at office supply stores or hardware stores.

do it, well worth the $120 a year if you use all of the services. I use the music streaming at work so I can listen to stuff on my headphones and I have the fire tv box too - ditched cable about 5 years ago and dont miss it at all

really? ive used the prime video almost exclusively for over 5 years and haven't run out of stuff to watch yet. i do also use crackle, tubi and imdb which are free with ads (5 - 30 second commericals in a 1 hour show) and they get different stuff monthly. they also do specials for the paid channels and I did 3 months of showtime last winter for $0.99 a month, this winter i got starz for the same deal. yeah, i dont get the new/current series but i honestly dont miss cable at all.

did you need to change underpants when you got to work?

couple winters ago I almost got rear ended by someone who failed to stop at a red light. it was dark out, couldn't miss the light or the 4 of us who were already stopped. i was 2nd in the inside lane and two others in the outside lane. looked behind me and i see headlights coming up fast. too fast. and not slowing down as they approached. i was boxed in and couldn't get out of the way so i braced myself for impact of a vehicle rearending me at 70mph and started saying a little prayer. at the last second the light turned green and the car in front of me started to go. i started trying to get over in the other lane to get away from the idiot behind me. they ended up having to swerve over into the left hand turn lane and blew through the intersection, thankfully there wasn't any one in the opposite turning lane. they missed clipping the back bumper of my RUnner by less than a foot and by the time I crossed the intersection their taillights were out of sight.
