I just bought one. I can see applications where this would be useful to me. Nightfishing, coyote hunting while gearing up, backing into my driveway or just as an aide in setting up camp. Set up to work in conjuction with my back up lights as well as with an anytime switch are a consideration.
I will be faced with two issues. One is wiring, the other is destroying the center headrest to mount. I like to keep all my stock parts in OEM condition just in case I want to undo all of or a particular mod.
I've looked into purchasing a headrest to canablize and even as a salvage part this is a pricey little item, just shy of $200. If I can find some SS round stock of the same diameter I may use the existing holes in the seat. Polished up on a rag wheel and some rouge it would look stock. The advantage to mounting in that manner is that you have a movable height adjustment.
The other option would be a bracket attached to the back of the seat using rivet nuts. The first option is the direction that I'm leaning if I can find the correct diameter round stock, I think it has a much more finished look to it as well as adjustment.
Until I figure it out here's another mod for the pile. Oy!

Edit: Using the headrest mount is how I've decided to go. I guess if I can't find some stock of the same diameter I'll just purchase some slightly oversized stock and turn it down, polish and buff. More time consuming but worth the extra effort for a more finished look.

Added this awesome Bak Revolver X4 cover so that I can have a giant, secure trunk during the week, and still fit dirt bikes and see out my back window on the weekends.

My Tacoma got to make its first run chasing he hot air balloon pilots we crew for. It was a cold 2 deg F here this morning when we met at 6:45 AM to set up and launch. Turned out to be a beautiful morning and a long flight with almost all of the crew members getting to fly - Lynn and I got about a 1.5 hour flight last month so we chased. This flight was the 120th consecutive month our main pilot has flown - an awesome record here in northeast PA with the weather patterns. And, the Tacoma performed awesomely!! I love this truck!!

Those balloons look like fun but I'd rather stay in the truck. At least I can't fall out of the Tacoma :)

Pretty cool! Doc Thomas was neighbor of mine and he was a hot air balloon pilot. Haven't seen him the last couple of years, he's up there in age and may have past. I would frequently hear him fire up the burners, look up and see him flying over the house. Always looked like so much fun. Glad you all has some great flights. A lot more involved than some might think studying wind currents the logistics and such. 1.5 hrs sounds like a great day aloft.:thumbsup:

I fell out of a Mack truck one night in West Virginia after I drank a quart of moonshine. That was back in 1981. I'll never forget it. I was with the James H. Drew Exposition out of Augusta, GA.

I made a hidden mount for my pod lights behind the grill. Also had to move the horns. I think it came out pretty good for the whopping $3 I spent on material.
