Little one peed more blood on the floor, seemed to be favoring a leg when the Doc checked him out. Big one conveniently doesnt hack whenever the vet is in the room, fucker. So big one is gonna get the old "sleep on it" treatment while little one is getting a battery of tests.

$900 just vanished and we dont even know whats wrong.

Well Radiology and x-rays turned up no broken bones, no ruptured bladder. Not sure where blood is coming from or why. Clearly strained a muscle or something. Vet is keeping Cash overnight and giving him antibiotics and pain meds and hopefully he improves.

He'll probably spend tomorrow at his foster mom's with his Brother and Sister so he can be monitored while recovering.

Junior seems to be fine and didnt cost me a dollar, thankfully. We'll see if he's done reching tomorrow

Sorry to hear about your cat.
On Tundras.com, we have a couple DVM’s that take questions and give pet advice. They have helped a lot of us with pet issues/concerns, including myself.
Plenty of members from TW on that site as well... FYI.

    Thank you.

Wouldn’t that be something? We have a big old Mountain Lion running around out here. Neighbors keep finding deer carcasses on their property.

This picture is one of my favorites. Not mine, but a house in Boulder, CO.

    Right?

The scariest times I’ve had with animals:

-While visiting family in northern MN, seen a rather large Timber Wolf that was close. Normally, this isn’t an issue except we were on foot.

    - Had a going away party in MT and had a grizzly bear show up. That probably cost me 10 years off my life.

    - While mountain biking in CO, my girlfriend (now current first wife) were in a remote area with my 125 lb Rottweiler. We just so happened to run into a black bear and her cubs. I couldn’t hold back my dog anymore and let him go. I was certain that was the last time I was going to see him alive. It gave me time to get into my pack and pull out my gun powder infused bear repellent for a last resort.
Damn dog treed them all, then a cub gracefully came out of the tree (ok, it fell), and then they came down, chased each other around and then took off.

    - Last one was up in Glacier National Park. My last two male dogs were with us in the T4R and needed to get out. We were on some dirt road by the lake. Sure as shit two grizzly cubs were in the brush next to us. I never seen the mother, but those dogs went into the back at record time.

Luckily we don't have many issues with big mammals down here...most of my encounters are with snakes

Scary. I may need to get over that. Retirement is soon and the gulf coast states, Carolinas, Florida, Georgia are prospective winter home locations.

Funny, Australians have some of the deadliest animals on this earth. When my SIL lived there, the locals would say Americans are nuts living with bears. Lol. All in perspective I guess.

Haha yea, guess you just get used to it wherever you are. And a necessity if you're into the outdoors at all.

You'll get used to the snakes and bugs, learn where to avoid them haha

Took Ash and Sinbad to the vet. Clean bill of health for both. Though, Ash does have a little gingivitis. While they were getting their rabies shots, the Vet’s emotional support counselor, Iz, checked in on me. 11/10 good kitty.
