I will counter that the stock kevlars did fine for me in various terrain, though they didn’t clear the tread well in mud

 

Thanks for mentioning the gasshole. I didn't even think to look for an aftermarket option for the stupid gas cap...

 

The gas cap isn't stupid. It's the lack of holder for it that is stupid and dangling, darn nabbit, just ain't right.

 

You realise you can hang it on the gas door's latch? There's a notch in the plastic tether and everything.

 

Yep, and was not impressed with that situation.

Like others has said, see how you're going too use the truck first and then invest in things you need. You can always do minor mods as you get to know the truck and then make the big investment. Just my thoughts...

Do you have a link for the LED bulbs that you used on your interior? Some of the ones I have found online, people are complaining they don't fit very well in the 2020s.

Drive it for a year stock then spend the money fixing the first three things you hate most.

 

I agree with most.... depends on what you want to do with the truck.....but given you are in fort collins I would get a safer tires if you have stock Goodyear kevlars

 

Well my first mod is being done right now and should be finished on Monday.. I went with a new front bumper and winch setup as i tend to always get myself stuck . Next i want tires .

 

Are you going offroad or is it a street queen? Nothing wrong with keeping it on the street.

Easy trails to not break anything if you do go offroad. If you find a spot you're not comfortable in just go back. Then if you decide you wanna be able to keep going look at skids and sliders. Sliders have saved me alot of asspain and I'm still stock for now.

Stock form these trucks are pretty capable. Probably more capable than you are as a driver, unless you've been going offroad before.

 

Drive it first and see where you would like to upgrade.. I ran trails with some local TW people when I was stock (except for tires - I put new tires on it within the first 2k miles) and realized that I needed skids and sliders first.. I waited for tax time and took advantage of @SOS CONCEPTS sale.. Got the steel skid trio and sliders bare metal.. Got a great deal on them and have taken a few good hits since installed.. I don't rock crawl, but in the Northeast, fire roads can turn really rocky quick. Then I drove it more, and modified it as I saw fit. It's been mentioned already, but these trucks are extremely capable stock.. Drive it and enjoy it first!
