I’m sure the build quality and QC are worth the money but I’m worried I wouldn’t love it subjectively. I thought I would love the Bugout but when I actually handled one at a shop I knew it wasn’t for me.

On top of that I’ve seen a few people have their Sebenzas seized at the border by CBP and picking one up from a Canadian dealer is a little over 1000$ CAD.

    As an added rant.....

I bought a Manix from a member here for a good deal a few months back. Customs seized it even though you can buy it here from many different brick and mortar stores. I never found out why because I never got any paperwork.

They took forever to process the knife and send out the paperwork about the seizure. A month after I was supposed to get the knife I still had no letter and had to move into my new apartment. Getting the mail forwarded to my new place was like $60 and shipping the knife back to seller would have been another $50. At that point whatever money I would get back wasn’t worth the headache and just let it go. I’m sure whatever agent found it is enjoying his new toy

Anyways, I took it as a relatively cheap lesson about shipping across the border and got a P.O. box in Montana.

The subjective thing is very hard to measure. I hear you on the Bugout. I don't understand their popularity except those who have them certainly do like them.

Don't know what to say about the CBP thing. I can think of a variety of reasons why something might be held but certainly, I would expect you to be notified of the reason why-I hope.

How do you like the Thrill? I have had my eye on it and been waiting for DLT Trading to start selling it. Been debating between the Thrill and Mnandi and can’t make up my mind. I know the two are not in the same league, but I love my Sebenza 21 which is why I keep leaning towards the Mnandi.

The clip mechanism on the Thrill though intrigues me.

Thanks Dan, I'm quite pleased with them. I normally mod my Spydies with Allen Putman scales, but have seen a lot Flytanium, so decided to give them a try. I'm glad I did!

For the money they're good beater knives. Good action, decent steel. I like that they ride on bearings instead of washers. At under $40 they're great value for money in my opinion.

Test fit those micarta scales today. Definitely not perfect but I'm happy with them for my first time making custom scales. I'm also gonna acid wash/ stone wash the blade, liners, and pocket clip

I can't believe I missed this thread til now! My big 5.

Leatherman Skeletool CX, Kershaw Dividend Damascus, ZT 0562 G10, Vero Impulse, and ZT 0180 Blem. The Vero is my favorite of the bunch, but that 0180 makes me yearn for what a fixie ZT can be.

Last post from this little project. Got it finished and I'm super happyy with how it turned out! Acid etched and stone washed the blade, clip, and liners. Homemade micarta scales add a little bit of thickness to the handle (about 2 mm).
