    Welcome!
GVWR for your specific model is in the driver's door jamb.
There's a dedicated towing and camper section on TW, that may have more info you seek.

Oops, just read your sig, you don't yet have a Tacoma. It's not a full sized tow truck. If you're coming from an F150 to tow, you'll most likely be disappointed.

Thanks. For some reason the Toyota website says nothing about it.

Read up on here about towing in general. Lots of complaints. Lots of happy campers. I would avoid Tacoma if you're over 5000lbs towing. I believe its 6400 for most models at limit.

I was just wondering since Toyota’s website doesn’t seem to mention it.
    I wonder why?

I just used Toyota's site- it's there, you have to build your specific configuration, and when you get to the end of all the BS, you can click the download details button and the site will produce a PDF with the specifics.

Again: I’m not interested in looking through commercials.
Every other truck build site lists the towing capacity that’s easy to find.

Toyota isn't as simple. The capacity is based on trims and options of each vehicle. You would have to know the trim to know the capacity.

Amazing the hand holding that's required to find basic info.

Holy shit, it's right there on the main Tacoma page on the Toyota website. Screenshot_20200216-095135.jpg

Toyota doesn't really recommend towing. The truck isn't designed for it. From my 2019 Owner's Manual:
Your vehicle is designed primarily as a passenger/load carrying vehicle. Towing can have an adverse impact on durability.
If towing over 1,000 lbs service brakes are required on trailer
If towing over 2,000 lbs a sway control device is required.
If towing over 5,000 lbs a weight distribution hitch is required.
    Do not exceed 65mph

The Tacoma also has a low tongue weight rating (which should be about 10 percent of the trailer's GVWR) that if you aren't careful, can overload the rear axle, especially when loading the bed with camping gear. The circa 1985 rear drum brakes are also problematic.

A base model (insert any full size truck) will easily and safely out tow any Tacoma which is to be expected and should not be a surprise to anyone.

Here is an example of an easy to follow towing guide by a manufacture that specializes in building trucks actually designed for towing: https://www.ford.com/cmslibs/conten...neral/pdf/guides/20Towing_Ford_F150_Oct15.pdf

That's written by their lawyers to limit their liability. Of course it's designed for towing. Not as much as a full size pickup, but tow away within the max weight limit!
