I modified mine with barn doors and it fits great. There was some aluminum welding involved and I ended up replacing the front 1x1 with a 1x2 aluminum piece. The rear lower door frame was a 1x1.5 piece of aluminum, corroded thin POS. Just replaced it with a 1x1 1/8 thick aluminum square bar and pushed the rolled edge of the bed in with a 2x4. Bingo! 2 inch difference solved. I will post some pics in the Caps and Tonneau cover forum.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Looks really nice, I have to weld aluminum for work on a semi often basis but it's always clean new stock. That looks like it would be rather tough on yours given the wear and grime of a bed.

Any opinions on autotrans mounts? I’m in need of a new one I believe

Kinda looks like the left side is cracked, but I'm not sure either.

The mount looks exactly like mine did before I changed it. I could physically move the trans up and down with one hand. The rubber is just aged. Weight of the transmission is taking its toll. I did not notice any difference after replacing mine. It just seems sturdier than before. My 2 cents. The center bolt is just there in case the rubber completely gives out and breaks.

I guess I’ll go give it a shake tomorrow.

I’m getting vibs at certain points under acceleration, ujoints are fine, CB seems fine.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Options are real limited on the auto trans mounts... like, basically limited to just OEM as a best option. No one makes an upgraded mount for auto trans... I looked for a good 6 months while I was collecting parts for my swap.

Good to know, wonder how much one of those costs. Probably just grab an autozone part I guess.

That's because the only plausible upgrade for any auto is a manual transmission...

    Great analogy bud.

You're absolutely right though, even though the automatic transmission in our Tacos rob valuable horsepower and have horrible shift points, the auto tranny is superior to a manual transmission...

Manual transmissions have their place... An off road rig is not one of those places. Not for me anyway.
