I actually just ordered some el piping to do the same thing, I ordered ice blue and orange... during the day it looks just like what you did, but at night it lights up... thought it would give the truck a cool futuristic feeling. Im going to try both colors and see which one I like the best. BTW, my truck is inferno with the orange trimmed seats and dash, so the orange should match pretty well, otherwise the blue should match the dash lights.

 

Looks like it doesn't come in white.

OR it's a cost saving strategy brainstormed by some suit bucking for advancement. Happens. If you can make it look good on paper you can make almost anything fly!

Guess if I ever sell or trade mine I'll pull the mats just in case.

 

A lot of time wire brushing, then cleaned and wiped down with acetone and finally painted with Rustoleum High Heat Aluminum paint. The Borla has a welded on chrome tip which I just used a brass brush and polish on. Almost was going to use black paint but I'm glad I went with the aluminum.

 

Thanks! I like it. Looks like a good alternative to just a piece of flat bar. I'm considering some vertical pieces of abs or pvs mounted somehow for fishing rod holders. After seeing your setup, I'm going to go down and over with the strut to make a "U" so the pipes can be secured on the top and bottom.
