If you're putting it in the middle, try grounding it here:
If you're putting it on the left side, there should be a few existing ground points already.

I tapped the black wire from the puddle switch to the green wire of the cargo light switch to get the puddle switch to illuminate when i turn on the lights, but it just pops the fuse as soon as i turn on the light switch of the truck. The function of the switch itself works perfectly now since I grounded to a different spot.

Hmm, I'm not sure if the green wire from the cargo light switch is ground or not. The puddle light switch might have been using it as a floating ground, and when the cargo light is flipped on, it was shorting the power to ground?

Most of the guys that add a light bar switch tend to tap into the green wire of the cargo light switch for illumination when you turn on the parking lights and headlights

I tapped my under the dash on the fuse labeled IG1-2 , with an add a fuse . No problems to report

Light comes on when I start the truck and goes out when I turn off the truck.

    Hope this helps

Edit , only if you have the original released puddle lights. He has since revised the t-harness and is now plug and play

The meso switch gets its illumination from the parking lights through the t-tap harness. The ground wire coming off must go to ground, not to a 12v+ like the wire you are tapping off of. There should be no cut/spliced/taped wires. Just the plug in splitter and the single 12v- coming off the switch.

Unless you have the original released puddles like I do. I had to modify the puddle switch and tap it for illumination.

It depends on which T-harness you have , Meso poses this a day or so ago...
