All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

So i believe i witnessed ATRAC blow a rear end on a v8 t4r this weekend... I've always had a slight concern of something like that happening with ATRAC. Thoughts?

How might this happen? ATRAC only engages at slow speeds of 5 mph, and is only brakes related. How do you think this aided in a diff failure, and put 200k miles on the truck.
I ask because my last DD was an v8 runner. I have never seen this before.

Not entirely sure, and i could be wrong. Guy was climbing up some rock ledges with ATRAC engaged. Right rear tire was barely on the ground. Gave it a bump, nothing overly ridiculous, and rear end went. My thought was that at some point during the bump, ATRAC locked up the right rear that was barely on the ground, and threw all the power to the left rear that was stuffed inside the fender. Then boom...

I would have to believe that brake slippage would happen before anything could break.

On another note, has anyone replaced their whole LCA assembly with a MOOG unit? Its actually cheaper to buy two brand new LCA's fully assembled with bushings and ball joint, than to purchase whiteline bushings and moog ball joints to refurbish my current ones...

I thought someone here has reported the Moog units failed pretty quick on their truck. I went with the ACDelco ones when I replaced mine a few months ago.

Btw if you’re still interested in my old LCA’s, I’ll be back to my dad’s place in a week or two and can grab them while I’m there.

Should have used a Maurader, then you could call it the Mercury Mohawk.

I have the Dorman LCAs and have not been impressed.

As for the ATRAC and the diff, isn't ATRAC only on the front? If the rear diff grenaded, then I would think a change in direction occurred with more power than should have been applied.

    My thoughts exactly

I can get to a 100 yard range but that still doesn't do this gun justice. She is a beaut though for whoever ends up buying her.
