i think it is common place for motorcycles to go unused

as far as pre purchase bike inspections when being suspicious though, before going find out what the original equipment tires where that year to compare whats on the bike and then check the manufacturer date on the tires if it is the same tire make and model
taking the seats off you can usually tell if a battery has been removed a bunch of times or not

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
For sure. Got my 1290r with 782 miles in it. Lady got pregnant and decided to take a brake from riding for a bit.

I’ve seen a lot of sport bikes and dirt bikes for sale in similar condition. A few of the common stories are that the dudes buddy got a bike and he got talked into buying one too but realized it wasn’t for him, so it sat. Or he had a close call and it scared him enough where he realized it wasn’t for him, so it sat. Or new wife/kids... so it sat.
Owner was probably a weekend warrior anyway and it just wasn’t his thing to begin with.

If I had to guess, he got suckered by the "600cc is a beginner bike" crowd when he was not even close to being experienced enough to deal with it, rode it a few times, realized that it was not in fact a beginner bike, and is now trying to get it gone.

    I just got back!

I had to cut it short, though. I just discovered an oil leak on the side of the engine near the generator/stator housing, and it’s dripping onto the header pipe. As soon as I discovered the leak, I took my little Ninja back home to put it safely away in the garage again. :pout:

I will try to tear into it next Saturday when I have time.

This would be fun to take camping as around campsite/town bike.

I want one but I’m way too tall and lanky to be comfortable enough on it to purchase one. I’ll putt around if someone has one but I’d be one of those guys that sells it a couple years later with 200 miles on the clock.

A lot of big dudes just sit on the passenger seat and ride normally. They're dope little bikes, I really kinda want one for around-town riding.
