For those with the First Original Puddle light T-Harness with the 4 ALL BLACK WIRES.

Here is the walk through I got from Stew @MESO to fix the illumination issue.

    Per Meso:

I made a quick diagram on TWO different ways to quickly fix this. METHOD 1 is just Switching 1 wire up at the main T harness(we are taking it from pin 1-->pin12) MY PICTURE SHOWS A GREEN WIRE, but IN V1, all wires are BLACK
You can remove this from the truck and work on it on the bench to make it easier.

    COVER WITH TAPE OR INSULATIONAFTER

METHOD 2 Just involves sniping the wire behind the switch and tapping it to anyILLUMINATION wire
    [IMG]

Again this only applies to the first original batch of puddle light kits.

Please double check which main T-Harness you have and if you have the 4 ALL BLACK WIRES the diagram above will solve your illumination issue.

If you have the new revised T-Harness your good to go and no modification is necessary for illumination, since it’s built in to the new harnesses.

Just to clear up any confusion: Meso illuminates the puddle switch; he does NOT dim the puddle switch with the operation of the dash odometer knob.

In the future, dimming may enter the Meso vocabulary.

Thank you for helping out the TW community.
This is exactly how MacGyver would handle this.

Switch is in! Along with heated seats and clazzios! The fronts at least, ran out of daylight before I could do the back seats.

@MESO is awesome as usual and got back to me immediately when I emailed him for wiring support since my puddles are of the very first batch. Got everything wired up and powered. Going to make some new harnesses for the heated seats when I have more time, just not enough length on them to hide them well, to my liking at least.

Loving the OEM look of this switch!

I like the rear slider being over there. Was that difficult?

Can anyone take a pic with the puddle lights on from inside of the cab. Just want to see what the light output is. Debating if the switch is needed for me. also, is there a way to tie them in with the reverse lights?

I got them more for the ability of turning them off. When I go thermal hunting, it’s at night and these puddles are crazy bright.

Meso.....is there an issue with lengthy use of these pods? I notice they get really hot after just a few mins.

I have the 1st gen puddle lights that did not come with connections to the v5s however I believe the wiring for them is there. Has anybody with the same set up install the limited edition switchback turn signals to their 1st gen puddles? Could you pm me the details of how to do it?
