I neutral dropped my 290k old auto trans that was full of water for a day from redline more than occasionally and it shifted fucking fantastic

I dont see how you can fuck up an auto and thats cause i floored it through thick sand at the beach and held it at speed limiter till the heat from the trans tunnel became uncomfortable

I just cant see how you can fuck up an auto aside from towing in overdrive

Sidenote... anyone need an a340 and j-shift t cass... shifted beautifully when pulled

 

But the manual guys are sayin how bad it sucks to replace a burned up auto trans... surely it must be true...

Only auto transmissions burn up, unless you mean the clutch in which case yeah, that'll happen if someone doesn't know how to use it properly. I've got 60k on my stock clutch with DD and wheeling miles on it and its still going strong.

It is hard on a stock clutch to rock crawl with it because you're constantly feathering it to maintain crawl speed. But having an extra low range would eliminate that problem, something I hope to do in the future ($$$)

Manual transmissions don't overheat like autos that's the beauty of them in comparison to autos when talking about wheeling or towing. No need for a trans cooler or any of that

 

I enjoy driving a manual trans too... Just not in my truck, I take to the woods.

Besides with all the clutch issues my buddy has had with his 4 runner id rather have a tc
