What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Ya... well you see... this is a message board. And the way a message board works is people discuss things.

Some times when people discuss things, they have different opinions about things... but they still discuss them.

The way things DON'T work well is when people expect others not to discuss things if they have a differing view point... and then they make off handed remarks accusing them of arguing so they'll stop talking.

I would have likely flopped my truck in an auto. Being able to quickly disengage the driveline is helpful. Easier to rock back and forth to get unstuck in a manual as well.

I doubt my t100 with the 3.4 auto would beat my Tacoma in a race. That trans is pathetic. I hope something is wrong with it..

 

As long as it’s not diet I don’t really care

You have that backwards its super easy to rock an auto back and forth all you have to do is keep the button held than you can shift between drive and reverse as fast and as many times as you want without risk of stalling

 

They’re soo bad. I hate them.


My a340 does what I ask. And it’s done it well for 300k miles. Manuals are great too. My heep is a manual.



the only transmission I literally despise is the CVT

In my experience as long as it has fluid itll be fine... my moms cruiser is at 350k and no one who was responsible for mantaining it has fessed up to changing the fluid
