Either/or. Depends on the situation. Regardless, I'd rather not have a hard piece of metal, accelerated by wind or gravity, slam into any part of my body if I can help it.

and those door check parts new will actually keep the door at the opening you want and not move much or at all when parked on a hill (or wind gust)

i had always thought the purpose of those checks were so that the door does not hyper extend and cause body panel and/or hinge damage :notsure:

Why hasnt anyone adapted the checkstrap out of a bmw to our trucks yet

The fucking door on my dads 5 series feels 40 lb heavier is 11 years old and holds its position on our steep ass driveway

It does that too but if you look at the picture I posted today you can see the nylon bar has two bulges in it that have to squeeze through a narrow rubber opening. The valleys in between those bulges are the two spots in the total opening radius of the door where it will stay put. Really windy or really steep can defeat that though but, compared to the worn down bulges in the old ones, these new one are great.

Im super late to the party. Auto mothafuckas! Although, i drove my buddies 4runner on 44s with triple sticks and it was fun. But i dig my auto. I hammer the fuck down and have been good so far. Deep water. Mud. Snow. And boulders. Speed bumps at the mall occasionally

Yeah ironically I have another a340 sitting in the garage. Only because it has a multi mode tcase on it I want to swap into my SX.

But swapping Frankenstein's manual over is appealing...and everything else haha

haha nah all that would get moved over if I do that. Bumpers, diffs, LT, tranny, front grill/hood, tail gate, supercharger. Contemplating it. Just don't think I have the time/space to do it. Mostly no place to do it.
