time/space is always the issue. im trying to rectify the space issue. but the time just becomes less because i have to work more!
i need to consolidate my fleet. but i cant seem to sell any of my cars. damnit 2 1/2 trucks plus a full size sedan and a econobox take up a bit of room

I don't care about consolidating. If fact..that really why i haven't. I like having both rigs.

Space is a major killer for me. Can't find a place to rent with a garage that isn't expensive. And can't find a place to buy that wouldn't be insanely expensive to own ha sucks.

i've been looking at renting warehouse space. aint the cheapest. but it would allow me to finally open a shop at least.. and store my junk and cars

other option is buy property and build a massive pole barn, ive been looking at that route as well. i have no issues sleeping in a pole barn loft.

i would be most interested to see that in action on a good hill with some still shots or video preferred of the door not closing or opening too much and stays put!

and i honestly cannot ever remember my doors ever doing that and not opening full wide on a downhill park, they may have when it was 'new' but goodness that was over 2 decades ago! and i may have been accustomed to the current operation really early Idk

but what is the expected lifespan on the new door checks, will they need to be replaced yet again in 3yrs or thereabouts?

...For anyone who's considering entering Death Valley through Beatty, I highly recommend using Titus Canyon as your entrance to the park - not only are the narrows near the west end of the road a joy to drive through, but the colorful views from Red Pass rival those found anywhere in the park. As such, I'd decided that this would be my route for the morning, and it wasn't long before I was aired down and heading west.

I was not alone. In my mirror, a fellow explorer I'd wanted to meet for some time - his adventures in Death Valley providing inspiration for several of the places I've visited over the last couple of years.

^ God damn thats some beautiful scenery. Can't wait to do some trips like that.

Finally got a shop to do my alignment. She drives real good, went 0 toe/camber & 3 caster. Tracks straight, returns to center. Like. Hammered out the 3-4 inch section of pinch weld at the back, cut away a tiny bit of fender liner and I have 0 rub. Backspacing + Spacers = doesn't even come close to the frame, so happy with how this thing rides.

Still a good chunk of change for something that's only annoying at times. Especially considering you need two of them. I would guess there are springs in there that pinch on the plastic part. I wonder if they could be replaced with stronger ones from the hardware store? This seems like there should be an inexpensive way to MacGyver it.

Takes too long waiting for the revs to come back down before shifting. With the manual you don't have to wait. Just easier to keep momentum with a manual in my experience.

Why's everyone hate CVTs? I've never driven one just curious.

They just don’t feel right, the drone, and reliability isn’t there.

they’re better for power sports. Not cars

I think early iterations of CVT's lots of manufacturers used were pretty poop, always hunting and weird starts from stops, lot of tranny failures (lol ford focus). Later iterations seem to be fine, I've driven a few for rental cars and they don't bother me at all, just feels like an auto.

Your rig got me wondering about 35's someday :p Have that same bumper I'll throw on when it stops being 1 degree kelvin outside every time I want to turn a wrench, really like your LED bar placement on it.

Hybrid CVT transmissions are a totally different beast. No bands at all.

Mine was cooked when I bought my truck. I didn't know any better at time of purchase as all the vehicles I had except two were manuals. Fluid was dark brown when I checked it on the lot. Sounded like a box of bolts shaking around at idle and I was thinking something was just loose on the truck. Paid a shop for a full rebuild, new torque convertor and 2 year warranty. Added a trans cooler. Temps still get above 200 according to the scangauge.
I still think an auto is better off-road.

That settles it. When can I pick up the Tundra? :spending:
