Beuty of a place there, can't imagine the work you put into cutting up and preparing that fir for moving

I do same and have only hit the mirror on my '06 one time, right after I ran over our lamp post (no back-up cameras back then) totally not my fault

No modifications yet. Bone stock... well, I do have the K02 all terrain tires. I will be looking into some suspension upgrades in the near future and depending on how much off-roading I get to do, probably some skid plate protection.
At home, my Taco stays outside on the curb or in our driveway, but we do have a lot of trees, so it's almost always in complete shade. I do get to park it in a covered garage every day at work though.

I started using this system in 2000 to get the cap off my Dakota. Now at 65, I still don't find it difficult to hoist the cap off my Tacoma. I bought mine from JC Whitney and it uses straps with cam locks. With that, I raise each corner little by little until the cap is almost touches the ceiling in my garage.

Let me know if you have other questions. In the meantime, I'll see if I can find a link for the straps.

    EDIT ALERT!
I searched and could not find the straps that I purchased from JC Whitney some 20 years ago. Everything now seems to be mechanical. The straps that I have are about 3" wide with cam locks on each end. There's a tab or ear about 8" long on each end of the straps that slips over a hook that I screwed into a ceiling joist. At the end of that tab or ear starts the strap with the cam lock. Very simple design and works great. Knowing cam locks on straps, I tie a safety knot to prevent slipping of the strap through the cam lock to prevent any slippage.

    Good luck with your project.

Since I've had my kids and they're grown and gone, I'd give my left nut for a garage like that!

I love this setup but I do have to call you out on using assisted parking wooden blocks on a shortbed Tacoma equipped with a rear view cam and a garage 30x50 ..Nicely done.

    Bone f’n stock for now
I used to be able to fit in my garage. Even with a 3” lift and 35’s it fit. I added a rack and forget about it. Even as low profile as the prinsu is I don’t think I’d fit anymore. So my truck stays outside. And I’ll agree it’s taken it’s toll on my paint for sure but my truck is 9 years, scratched to hell and back and now I just get in it and drive. It gets washed when it rains.
