I remember someone saying that AutoZone axles are from the same supplier the same as NAPA. I might be able to compare Import Direct to Auto Zone. The little NAPA affiliate store here doesn't stock many import parts. I might get dinged with a restocking fee if I mess around the them. O'Reilly opened another store where next to Advance. We now have 3 O'Reilly, 2 Advance, 1 AutoZone, 1 CarQuest, and 1 Affiliate NAPA.

After a quick look, I didn't see the specific thread with the torn down cv axle pics but saw plenty of posts of people pissed off with their aftermarket Chinesium axles. And I already am convinced theyre junk so I'm not gonna look for it, lol. But its over there somewhere if you're curious.

And get this. Some folks(quite a few) over there on Mud had DEALERSHIPS service dept do the cv axle job and the dealer service dept used aftermarket Chinese axles!!?? Wtf? That's jacked up. I get that the OEM axles are spendy but so much dishonesty man.... Unbelievable. I guess ignorance truly is bliss. Really is.

I wouldnt worry about the crappy ones man. We know they're crap. :D and I'm not gonna internets argue with anyone about it. They wanna run them, I don't care. Unless I'm on a wheeling trip with them and they're slowing the group down because we have to stop to replace junk parts they knew they shouldn't have run(ESPECIALLY OFF ROAD, wtf man?!)
Might be worth it to just stay 4x2 PreRunner!! :D:rofl::rofl:

It sure is. Just seeing some of the issues that people are working around with aftermarket parts is enough to keep me away for the LX. Though I think Koyo bearings are ok. I haven't seen anyone bring up Nationals. I can't tell from the pictures at Rock if those are re-boxed Koyos like for the Tacoma. I might go with National seals for the hell of it. I've found those to be re-boxed OEM or OEM are re-boxed Nationals that Tenneco FM supplies to Toyota. The thing is, it takes over 5 years to find out how well a given part lasts in a lot of cases.

Only exception I'd make for that trail repair statement is for eon_blue, I bet he can have that thing swapped out in 45 minutes while I'm having a potty break and stretching the legs and getting some pics and prepping the hot water for us to all drink some Mate :DMate_en_calabaza.jpg

Definitely keep using the good aftermarket stuff. Please do keep using that. And those are the same things I notice as well with parts and stuff. Koyo and Denso and Sumitomo supply the OEM parts to Toyota, keep using those for sure

Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Chile. South America herbs, hot water. Just an herbal tea basically. I love it though. I guess I love more what you do when you drink it. Everyone in a circle and visiting and and chatting and you pass that guy a round and drink from same bombilla(straw thing) too.
It's weird to us because we're big germaphobes here in US. :D

I just went with the Toyota stuff.

If you're going as far as doing a full drain, and cleaning/replacing your filter, make sure you use Toyota FIPG vs the gasket for the transmission pan.

When you have all the parts for it. We'll have a Mod 'week'(instead of day:D) and get the bulk of all the hard stuff done on your 4x conversion :cool:

Fishing bro. Best way to unwind from all the BS. Quiet time, just you, the lake and fish at the break of dawn. Perfection.

And less complicated and costly than restoring a LC/LX. I know I like fussing around with the high maintenance ones.

if it ever gets done lol. I look (locally) everyday hoping I'll find a 2002 DC 4WD with a dead engine I can just buy and cannibalize. No such luck.
