    Hey all,

It's been a minute since the last time I was on here. I hope everyone's new year is off to a great start. (hey, we are still in the beginning.) I've always wanted a utility trailer and so happened was able to get a double axle for a great price. I was looking into the possibility of hauling junk as a business. The goal is, if successful; purchase a beat-up truck with a V8 for the towing. For the time being though, will my 2016 be able to handle this kind of job every now and then? I'm not saying often because I would just be getting started. Your thoughts?

depends how heavy your junk is. if you plan to haul 20k pounds everyday then no the taco wont work too well. 3-4k? easy money.

WOW! Thank you for the quick reply lol! That was fast. Is there anything out there that could tell me towing capacity while towing and weight? You know just to play it safe.

Dumb answer I know, but it's better to be safe right? If you mean where you insert the ball to tow, yes I do. I believe that was standard on the truck. Do you think it is safe? Has anyone else tried hauling as a business?

Tow package is more than that, and not standard on the truck. The main component being the trans cooler. Makes a big difference in what you can pull "safely".

I think a work horse truck like a regular cab long box (8ft) makes way more sense. Even if its 500$ you aren't risking your truck to unwanted damage.

If you have the tow package and V6, this is your towing capacity...

Youll know if you have the tow package if you look through the right side of your grille and see this..

I'm sure they could, but this is the the safe specs. The truck can handle more if you want to risk damage.

I got one of those, heck yeah! To be on the safe side as I asked previously, maybe someone may know. Is there anything that I could attach to the trailer or truck that gives me weight and towing capacity just to be safe?

What does that question mean? You mean you want some kind of add on that will allow you to tow more?

You could attach a bigger truck to the trailer, but other than that no.
