You don't need an app to tell you what your towing. The truck itself also has a pitch monitor pre-installed in the screen behind the steering wheel.

If you want to know the weight of what you are towing, add the weight of the stuff up

or take it to a scale

    None....yet.
How big is your trailer? If you're not hauling bricks or big steel, I'd be impressed if you could fit 7000 lbs worth of stuff in a normal size trailer. I filled a big uhaul when I cleaned out my and my mom's garages (i mean FILLED), and it was right at 3000lbs.

At 7K you could load up the bed of a 1500 Dodge Ram and tow the whole thing with the Taco.

I'm not planning on doing anything that's construction. SO yeah bricks and rock, no thank you. AT least not with the Tacoma.

I get that but I would want to know while loading so I don't overdo it with the truck. Going to scale would be after the fact. And yeah, funny, lol. hmmm, 200 pounds plus 35 plus 43 etc....funny lol

I don't see how an OBD reader would tell you the weight of you're load since there is literally no sensors built in to scale that kind of thing. Just have to know what you're hauling ahead of time. Only you can judge that.

Nope. Buy a trailer. Go to scales and get it weighed. Then load it up. Estimate the weight as you load. You know what you can lift so add it up roughly as you load. A couch is 100 lb or so. A fridge is a couple hundred...

I think you'll be more than fine. I mean, dont go haul a pool and fill it with water or anything....but if you're not doing any heavy construction materials, I doubt you'll ever over do it.

This is a good idea. Another dumb question. When going to the scale do I disconnect the trailer from the truck and weigh it or together? I'm assuming, feel up the truck as well with fuel right?

You should be able to pull the truck off the scale and just weigh the trailer. No need to disconnect

Pertaining to the trailer itself, as I have been working on it; I noticed that all four tires are completely different sizeso_O. How could I go about finding out what were the original sized tires? If it helps, here is the info on the trailer placard:

    GVW: 7000#
    Shipping WT.: 1300#
MFG Max. Carrying CAP. Rating: 5700#

    The rim size are R15

One big thing is to make sure you push the ECT switch to on when towing .

I know this is an old thread but I’m doing the same thing as you with my 2nd gen haha. I’ve saved up about $9,000 in 3 months from junk removal. Planning on buying a used diesel. What area are you in?

I did 13,000lbs of brick split between 3 loads. The truck did it without any problems BUT I wouldn’t do it again. And I also under charged on this job. I was still learning.

That's so cool bro! Sorry for the late response. I'm in the great state of Texas near the gulf. So far everything has been going smooth but slowed a little after COVID struck. What advertising ideas did you use to get the whole ball rolling?
