How I rotate my tires really fast:

    1) jack up back under center of differential, put 2 jack stands on each end of the axle then remove jack

    2) jack up front center of the truck lightly, loosen lugs, then finish jacking up front

    3) remove front wheels, swap sides and move to back

    4) remove rear, install new ones, tighten

    5) install fronts, tighten

    6) lower front, remove jack stands from back

    7) torque

I actually got stuck behind this lady at Kroger today.
    It went as follows.

Cashier: How are you doing today?
Karen: (putting some Valentine flowers on the belt) (never responds to the cashier) If these dont ring up 50 percent off, you need to get a manger to override it.
Cashier: Scans flowers, they show full price.
Karen: Go ahead and ring everything else up and call someone. (Now puts a single bottle of sweet tea up) The six pack is on sale but you are out, I need a raincheck for that.
Cashier: Were they in sale paper? We only give rainchecks if it was in the paper.
Karen: I don't know, give me your sale paper.
*They were not in the paper.
    Karen is now pissed off.
Cashier finishes ringing up the rest of her stuff, has to leave the counter and go over to the floral department. Comes back and scans flowers, changes it to 50 percent off and tells Karen her total.
Karen: So, they were 50 percent right? What about the tea?
Cashier: If they were not in the paper I can not do anything.
Me: Look lady, they were out of stock, go to another Kroger or come back tomorrow. The line has 3 people behind you.
Karen: Pays for her stuff and briskly walks out.
Me: Apologizes to the cashier for having to put up with people like that.
Cashier: Smiles and thanks me for telling her to go.

What I find hilarious is that 99% of the owners on here don't realize that techs aren't paid to retrain the tires to the new locations. I feel like you're really making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Love engagements like that. Wife usually grabs my arm to signal not to say anything. Some variation of “don’t be a bitch,” almost always comes out and Karen looks surprised anyone would talk to her like that.

I commend your response and restraint with Karen.

If I set the re-learn on 2018+ toyotas it can take a full hour of driving for it to register.

During that time the light will flash.

Customers don't like that. No idea why.

I work at a ford dealer and we have a multi vehicle TPMS tool. I do mine myself, but yeah, sometimes it takes a minute. Customers are the fucking worst lol.

Karen would have mentioned the slow leaking tire. She can't miss a hair appointment

Kevin says nothing hoping to get something over on someone. He'll be asking for an extended warranty and an Audi TT-RS on the house

Very true. I'm in body shop biz. Missed my CSI bonus ($1000) many times. Over minor shit like the car not being properly cleaned. Even though I QC the car, I'm not perfect.

The service writer wasn't the one that failed to do the tire rotation. It's on the RO, the tech got paid for it. Not really the Service advisors fault.

I tried to hold back as much as possible, but the lady behind me had a small child and the kid was getting antsy. I knew at any moment that poor kid would have a fit and then the Mom would be left trying to calm her child down all because Karen had to buy cheap leftover flowers for herself.

Agree with this BUT... what do you mean by retrain? Typo- rotate? Why wouldn’t they be paid to rotate IF that’s part of a provided service that’s done at a certain mileage? I don’t think it’s unreasonable expectation.

That sucks. I hope it's some type of score averaged across time like a month or quarter.

Hate to see one OCD Dbag ruin it for you.

One or two cases, outliers. 50 cases, well, time for some meetings.

No, I mean RE-TRAIN. You have to tell the computer the new tire locations. The labor times are so fucked and based off old vehicles that only let you know if a tire is low, and not which specific one is low. The new ones tell us the specific tire. If I don't get paid to do something, I don't do it. Plain and simple. Techs get fucked over on the regular when it comes to dealership labor times, so if I'm doing something, you can bet I'm getting paid for it.

Hence why the tires probably didn't get trained.

I agree it’s making a mountain out of a molehill but our time is worth money and if they say something was done we should be able to trust that. The sad thing is that it is a very common occurrence to have the tires not rotated when they say they were.

Business owners don't care, they demand perfection and it's always the writers fault. My manager would fill up gas tanks, give gift cards, whatever it took to resolve small issues. You would be amazed at how a red faced pissed off customer will completely change his/her tone over a $20 gift card. Give you 10's accross the board when you don't deserve it.

$100 says the tires got rotated. That's not lying.

Multipoint inspections for example. I don't get paid to do them, so guess what? They don't get done. If I happen to notice something weird while doing a repair, I'll note it, but I'm not looking over an entire vehicle for free. That's the problem with customers and the Automotive industry today. They want more work for less pay.

I wouldn’t by on it. I’ve had them not rotated on more than one occasion.
