I got mine today as well. Taking to my buddy tomorrow to have it put in. Looks like your right up the road from me. I’m in Monticello but in McDonough a good bit. 942539A8-109F-4F00-B8D1-9572D42AB920.jpg

Got the rest of the setup installed and bled the clutch line. Have to finish reconnecting shifters and exhaust and driveshaft and should be ready for a drive.

connected the braided line right at the firewall and eliminated the rubber line and accumulator.

Yes, uses the stock master cylinder. Replaces the factory slave cylinder, throwout bearing, clutch fork, and clutch fluid accumulator.

What are you guys doing to cover up the gaping inspection hole on the side of the trans? I'm not exactly thrilled about leaving that uncovered.

Also, I just noticed it looks like CM changed the dust plug somewhere along the line from a two-piece with the hoses in the middle to a one-piece with the hoses on the outside

going to put the original cover back on. I finished everything tonight and the maiden voyage is tomorrow. Had a few other things I wanted to install while I had everything apart and on the lift.

Yeah just reuse the factory inspection cover!

They did change the little dust plug up. Functions the same but the two piece was just slightly a pain to deal with getting it wrapped around the hoses and then wrap the oring around both sides.

Maybe you’re missing the cover we’re discussing in this thread?

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/mt-bell-housing-cover.643749/

The new design plug for the lines looks like it’d be slightly easier to deal with I guess.

Long story short, I've got 4 broken ribs and couldn't do this install myself. I couldn't put it off any longer because the TOB was about to explode. The shop that did the install wasn't even close to my standards. When I asked about the cover they told me it wouldn't go back on. They've been giving me the run around and now I'm going to have to tear it all down and do it myself anyway just to fix all their fkups.

I'm still missing an entire exhaust bracket, the cover, and the bolts for it. They felt the need to hammer the dust plug in and it sliced the o-ring. The hose is completely unsecured, rubs the wiring harness, wires on the O2 sensor, and is laying against the catalytic converter. They reused the factory bolts, ignoring the new ones that came with the flywheel, I can't tell if they replaced the rear main seal or used the new exhaust gaskets, there's grease all over inside the bell housing, and I don't have any reason to believe anything was torqued to spec. They also went through my glove box and stole 3 of my 4 prescription lidocaine patches.

New clutch chatters in neutral with the clutch pedal out and makes random clunks and clatters. So yeah, I'm pretty pissed about the whole thing.

Pedal feels great though. Love the heavy flywheel, too.

I told him he has until close of business to agree to my terms. If he doesn't reply I'm calling the cops about the prescription drug theft. Schedule a redo with Toyota, they already agreed to go through everything and note any discrepancies. And I'll begin the process for small claims court.

dang that sucks man so sorry to hear that a shop would treat someone that way. I will grab a picture of the cover when I get home but it's a small metal cover that bolts on and seals that hole up, it has a small rubber gasket glued to it, and is kind of an odd shaped piece of stamped steel.

As for that noise, that sounds like the pressure plate fingers are contacting your new hose lines possibly? Either that or something internal to the transmission like an idler gear.

We finished @HomerTaco 's truck up late last night and he was on his way this morning. Clutch pedal feels amazing compared to the old setup and no more squeaky.

Brake light came on this morning. Hmmm. Low fluid maybe? Yup.

Bearing is leaking. Didn’t make it 2k miles.

I’m beside myself at this point. So pissed, I’m not even mad. Just wish I’d never heard of this company before. @406cruiser you know these guys. What do you suggest I do?

Pics were taken inside the bell housing after I’d brake cleaned the shit out of things in there and then had an assistant pump the clutch a few times to confirm.

That’s no good! Is it leaking from the actual bearing or could it be from a braided cable connector?
