oh yeah lol Bakersfield is a shithole...only good thing about it is that about an hour and a half east are the Sierras, Sequoia Natl Forest, Kings Canyon, etc.

Yeah don't go to Bakersfield lol

I was harassed by local PD there when I'd go out to some BLM for night shooting.

Those guys are ruthless and will beat the living shit out of you, no joke.

Some of them are pretty damn racist too (confirmed by a few friends that live nearby Bakersfield)

eh that's alright with me, Monrovia is a relatively small town for LA county right by the mountains so it's nice not to be completely surrounded by other huge cities

He got picked up in a raid here locally, he's good now though. All laughs now in hindsight:rofl:

It was pretty sad having seen people cross over out by 29 palms; there are signs with the people crossing, and warnings about picking them up.

Well, those people would actually venture through the live firing ranges as well

I figured it was a time thing with SF, distance looked closer than 2 hours. I guess if you're raised there and don't realize how much time is lost in traffic, it prolly doesn't bother you as much because it's all you know anyways

It can be done in 2hours, if you're leaving late in the evening or something.

I absolutely despise traffic; would rather drive a long distance vs sit in traffic for a short distance for the same length of time.

I take it it's not as bad where you're at?

Yeah dude I don't make a moral claim of right or wrong on the folks looking to better their family's lives. I get it. I don't blame them either. A father will do ANYTHING for the betterment of his kids. All I say is I understand why they would take the risk and try to start a life here. I can understand their feelings, that's all. I also understand the other side of it.
But anyways, that Hwy 1 up the coast looks freaking unreal man?! You guys driven stretches of it or all of it before?

Highway 1 in itself is a beautiful drive

Lots of twists and turns, and a ton of places to pull over for snapping pictures.

I've done it quite a few times and it's really a nice getaway.

The coolest part though are the private roads as well as the fire roads that lead up as high as over 3,000 above sea level -

I'd urge my brother to take the day off but he's a manager at a store so that'd be a bit of a stretch for him to do unless I just wait for him to have Wednesday off and just run my errands tomorrow instead.

Private sale I could see around that if it's 4WD. I mean if clean double cab 1st gen Tacos with under 50k miles go for $15k.

Oh that's cool, your brother enjoy that stuff? Mine would go like if I begged him but I know he'd rather not lmao so I just pass, se with fishing, he doesn't really like it. He'll do it but he definitely doesn't fish like us other 3:D and this is the divorced one I live with. The one in Waco loves fishing
Oh and my brother says he'd be down for Texas, or if not he knows I'm going though... So that helps me feel better about it:cool:

He actually does, so if I ask him if he'd like to tag along Wednesday, then we'll go together.

If he says pass, then I'll go alone tomorrow

He's definitely into the outdoors though which is cool. He'd pretty much follow me if I left somewhere, as long as he isn't in a relationship (he's the committed type, puppy love, he IS younger).

So it goes without saying, Texas it is

I still need to learn how to fish though

If you do it to yourself, that's one thing. If a business that you paid your hard earned money to does it? Hell nah. Hell to the nah nah

    Ha, always welcome.

I always keep extra camping essentials and whatnot in the storage in case you're ever in need too.
