Well they wanted my help but I was more than an hour away from them so I didn't get to see it, said it was whistling from the front wheel and then said the wheel was wiggling and flopping around so I am guessing the wheel bearing is shot.

 

This is a salvage title Dakota, right?

 

Yep, I tried so hard to get him to pick something else. Every single vehicle he goes to buy and asks my opinion, I always strongly disagree with his choices and try to steer him to something else.

 

He should buy a well-maintained high-mileage 2nd Gen Tacoma, like mine!

 

Well I really would not have even had a problem with his choice of an S-10 when he wanted one, but it was the one he bought that I had issue with.

 

What was wrong with the S-10 again?

 

I was busy when he called with that Dakota problem.

 

It would have been easier to say what wasn't wrong with it. Someone swapped an S-15 Automatic cab onto it, sawed a huge hole in it, cut all kinds of wires behind the dash, left wires and cables disconnected, chopped off the exhaust near the header, had the totally wrong wheels on the car with the wrong center bore, I could go on and on.

 

Center bore...?

 

Yes, the center of your wheel needs to fit tightly and they had some kind of circle track wheels with huge center bore openings so it put major stress on the lugnuts and would not roll correctly so the truck was bouncing down the road.

 

You told me about the Franken-truck before; I just didn't know what a center bore was!

 

That truck was a pain in the ass, I rewired the windshield wipers to get them to work for him.

If you would look at it from the side the tire could not roll cleanly, it would actually go up and down because the wheel was not centered on the disc and drums.

 

Correct. It pisses me off cause the guy selling it told him it was just the wiper motor but it was the hack cab swap that was the problem.

 

What you need to do with a truck like that is just salvage the body and drop a 350 in it!

 

I would have been happy if he had just waited to find a better one, he suffers from the need of immediate gratification and cant handle waiting.

 

I have that problem sometimes, but it hasn't affected me with regards to picking out a truck!

 

I am truly scared that he is going to marry the first woman that walks into his life. He is a good kid and works hard, just hate seeing the things he buys cause he invests so much into them and will never get any return from them.

 

How old is he?
